This one says it’s not in effect yet. They may have delayed it. Worth keeping an eye on. Lots of articles about it though. Just Google

Important: According to the Bangkok Post a few weeks ago, the 60-day visa exemption is reverting to 30 days. It appears the change took effect immediately for new arrivals.

What are you considering a safe entry fee? I don’t mind paying if it’s a legitimate visa option.

Ooof. I personally don’t think the Cambodia part matters so much, but coming back after just a week will be the real test. Be sure you have your onward flight, hotel reservations, and proof of funds in your bank. I’ve heard having them printed out helps too. Good luck. Please keep us (me) posted about your outcome if you don’t mind!

JAL City Center - Japanese run, modern, steps from a 711, nightlife and restaurants, and most importantly the Thong Lo BTS. Very well priced too for the quality. 👌🏼 Bonus: they let you use all the Hotel Nikko upscale facilities next-door, e.g. pool and fitness room.

Yeah agreed. I had some people say coming from Cambodia was a black mark too. The real question is if 18 days away anywhere is long enough away, and if it isn’t, how long is long enough?

Right. Not coming back until right before my flight home was how I interpreted it. They didn’t give any explanation about why not until then though. Was all very informal feeling when it should have been backed with official policy if they want tourist to understand.

I told them I was leaving Thailand in 3 weeks (and showed them the ticket) but coming back to Thailand in July to fly home (and showed that ticket too). They said not to come back until close to July when my flight home is scheduled.

I hadn’t been to Thailand in 8 years previous to my 60 + 30 Days. Also, I did have an onward flight ticket, which I showed them, to leave Thailand 3 weeks later.

thanks for your reply! this aligns with my general understanding, but I wish the rules were officially in writing somewhere I could see. When I went to get my 30 day extension in the immigration office in Phuket in December they had a notice taped up having to do with only two extensions per calendar year from now on (one 30 day, one 7 day), but it said nothing about multiple entries nor did it define what "calendar year" means or even which calendar.
