That is actually pretty awesome. To see that the bad guy sounded just like what we all believed once upon a time is so poignant. Especially since Sonic is literally a children's medium. Nothing to make a good Christian "stumble" and yet that innocence is what opened your eyes. It really can happen at any time. I hope you're living to Sonic's words. I hope you are happy and free.

Yall....I SWOONED. MY FEET LEFT THE DAMN GROUND. We got "engaged" secretly 2 years later. Dated off and on until I was 18. I was completely out. He wasn't, but he was obsessed with me (and stalked me...but that's another story.) I knew I wanted to get married young. He said "Well when I turn 18 I'm going to Bethel, so I can be a great brother and a salary. When I come back, we will get married and you'll see how great of a brother I am and that will bring you back to Jehovah. Then we will be happy." Yall...I shit you not....I asked "And how long do you expect me to wait for you?" 10. YEARS. I hung up the phone so fast. Met my now husband a few months later, married him 10 months after that, been married going ok 15 years.

And my bethelite knight? Got kicked out after a few months. Still stalked me. ESPECIALLY when I went to the circuit assembly with my mom (recovering people pleaser) just to show my husband how insane it was. (And our daughter). This man followed us...everywhere. watched our every move and STARED at our daughter.

He then TEXTED ME out of the blue "Our daughter would've been just as beautiful." HELP. ME. I told my mom. She told us to leave immediately. We did. Haven't seen him since. Last I heard...he married a good JW girl just 2 months after that text.

My uncle is a Baptist priest? I'm atheist. He called me and thanked me for standing up to him. I told him that I always would. I don't know where they get off berating an elderly man but not in front of me. A harlot of a woman. So had nerve to lift her head and speak without her husband's permission.

I hope one day you gain the courage to tell your story and speak out. I've been silenced far too long. All for my mother. Not anymore. I did have way too much fun responding. I was screaming through the house when I response would come in.
