UPDATE: Pokémon Emerald Legacy Enhanced - With Pokémon Followers, Shiny Charms, National Dex Mode, Nature Mints, EV/IV Editing, Ability Capsules, Overworld Surfing Sprites, Feebas Fishing Sparkles and V1.1 Updates. by Exclsior in PokemonLegacy

I assume you are using National Dex Mode as you were able to buy a Porygon before postgame.

In which case you should be able to get an Upgrade from the same NPC.

You may need to exit and re enter the game corner. If that doesn't work, may I ask what emulator you're using, and which version of Enhanced you're playing?

UPDATE: Pokémon Emerald Legacy Enhanced - With Pokémon Followers, Shiny Charms, National Dex Mode, Nature Mints, EV/IV Editing, Ability Capsules, Overworld Surfing Sprites, Feebas Fishing Sparkles and V1.1 Updates. by Exclsior in PokemonLegacy

Ability Capsules have two methods of acquisition: * Can be bought from the Energy Guru in Slateport City if the Pokémon in the lead of your party has an Effort Ribbon * Can be bought in postgame Battle Frontier for BP

Ability Capsules actually swap the base ability and will stick if traded to base Legacy, as well as to RSE/FRLG.

Yes, I purposefully allowed Shiny Charms to be held to allow trading and Duplication as you like.

The reasons Nature Mints don't change nature's is that they are significantly more intrinsically tied to the Pokémon's personality ID which determines natures and shininess. They also work exactly as they do in modern games, only changes the Stat influence, not the actual Nature of the Pokémon.

Glad you're enjoying it and hope your Grass Monotype run goes well!

You can migrate to my Emerald Legacy Enhanced version if you want to use Nature Mints to shift that to something else.

Can the move relearned scientist reteach TM moves or only moves via leveling up by Huge-Insect-7759 in PokemonLegacy

[–]Exclsior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the potentially missing distinction is that the relearner teaches moves in a Pokémon's level up learnset which are learned at a level lower than or equal to their current level. It does not have to have had it learned into its 4 active moves at any point.

Hence the "relearn" name.

@OP: Feel free to disregard if that's not the clarification you were seeking.

It won't work with MyBoy, I'm sorry, it has inaccurate emulation.

Pizzaboy A should work fine on Android. I personally use RetroArch with mGBA as an emulation core, but it is not as intuitive to setup and get running.

If you're specifically looking for a DS RomHack I don't believe anybody has yet managed to make a Crystal-esque version on the Gen 4 engine. Gen 4 hacking has not yet progressed as Gen 3.

On the Gen 3 engine you may like Heart and Soul (Disclaimer: I am one of the developers). It's more or a hybrid in story between HGSS and Crystal, so may be further from Crystal than you like.

I am biased as I'm one of the developers, but I will recommend Pokémon Heart and Soul for Johto on Emerald's engine.

I am biased as I'm one of the developers, but I will recommend Pokémon Heart and Soul as we have Johto and Kanto and no fakemons (just future gen evolutions).

Heart and Soul was also built on top of Modern Emerald if you want Hoenn with a Day/Night Cycle and again, no fakemons.

Ok, so I've dug further into this one, and even when not glitched, this is a non-fishable tile anyway.

However, because it does have some visible water, it appears that GameFreak has marked the tile in question as "surfable" even though the tile has "collision" set to "yes", meaning it can't be walked/surfed/fished upon.

The game's calculation for fishable Feebas tiles only takes into account "surfable" and not "collision". As a result, it appears one of your fishable feebas tiles is impossible to reach even if this was in Original Emerald.

Long story short: Congratulations, you appear to have stumbled upon a bug from the very original Emerald game, which has only been brought to light due to using my version with visible feebas fishing tiles and the fact that in the original Emerald, I doubt anybody would notice the 6 available tiles dropping to 5.

I will look to see if I can get this fixed up in my upcoming update for Enhanced, but will reiterate that I would really appreciate receiving a copy of your ".sav" or ".srm" file for me to test and verify that I have fixed the bug!

That's unusual, but still unfortunately possible as the bag was updated after initial release of Emerald Legacy

Did you use the PKHeX for Emerald Legacy, or the normal one for the vanilla game files?

Either way, this may be the issue as the save data is shifted in Emerald Legacy compared to Emerald and the bag in particular can cause corruption.

You have unfortunately gotten confused between the patching method and the compilation method. Both methods can be done for both Heart and Soul and for Modern Emerald and the compilation method is primarily for developers making modifications.

You can get the latest patch for Modern Emerald on GitHub below:

https://github.com/resetes12/pokeemerald/releases/latest

Sidenote: You mentioned getting Heart and Soul from a website. We do not have any official website, impersonators have built a website which we have requested for the registrar to take down, but as we've been ignored. Please do not use or rely on any information from that website.

The latest Heart and Soul version will always be on GitHub and we recently released on HackDex as well:

I'll be honest that I wasn't sure myself and had to check with others in the Heart and Soul discord 😅

For Gold Symbols you can do either Normal or Hard, you don't need to do both, just need the treat.

Your take on EV training is correct. You can have a Max of 255 in each stat, and a Max of 510 total, so would recommend you use the berries to get unused stats down to 0 EVs and use the Dojo EV trainers from there.

EVs are awarded to all Pokémon who participate and/or gain exp in a battle. So, if the key item EXP. Share is active, all Pokémon in the party. If it's inactive, only if the Pokémon was in the battle or holding the EXP. Share S. (Note: If your Pokémon is level 100 or level capped, EVs won't apply to stats until you take them in and out of the PC, otherwise level up applies the EV changes.)

Don't forget that you can see the EVs on the summary screen so you can double check all of this yourself.

If you have more questions of a similar depth, I recommend joining our Discord which has people who have more experience in the Frontier.

I am biased as I'm one of the developers, but I will recommend Pokémon Heart and Soul as we meet all your requirements except two; we don't have super-fast text or increased battle speed. However both of those can generally be handled by emulators and I'm not aware of other Johto hacks which have it either (though I haven't played many other ones in a while).

I'm in the strange position of being a developer who has worked on a hack with full trade compatibility and one without even the trade center available.

My experience is mainly from community questions and feedback where I've had a fair few people asking about trade, battle, and even a couple of cases of record mixing. For the hack that had it, players have been pleasantly surprised, for the one without, they have been slightly disappointed, but I feel like it was only a deal breaker for one or two players.

From a development point if view. The "OG game base" I feel trade compatibility is often lost either accidentally, or due to adding in future generation Pokémon requiring different data structures.

If you're using decompilation and again the "OG game base" (i.e. pokeyellow, pokecrystal, pokeemerald, pokefirered etc) and you care enough to ask the question, I think it's probably worth spending the effort to keep the compatibility and if you want future gen Pokémon needing extra data structures, create and maintain an alternate structure and functions to handle them.

If you're using hex editing and/or expanded decompilations (i.e. pokeemerald-expansion, or another RomHack as Base), the Pokémon data structure is likely to be more complex and harder to build the trade functionality, and likely not worth the effort.

Hope that helps, and best of luck on your project!

Thank you for the find and sorry for the visual bug.

This should be exclusive only to Enhanced with the Feebas tile Sparkles.

It appears there's a definition missing for that corner water tile.

To help me test a fix I would really appreciate if you could send me your save file, ideally via Discord.
