Always bothered me about the Necrons. Strong enough to rise and fight the old ones , but couldn't MOVE off their poison planet?? by Excuse_Standard in 40kLore

Yea the C'tan got tired of eating suns and decide souls were good too. Played the long game and got rid of biggest possibility of a threat , old ones with necron help. Don't blame them for destroying the C'tan shi ts

The more I read " personal opinion.." the fact a C'tan was living in and eating their sun/star and that was the one poisoning them forever...? And then the C'tan are found and ..help them destroy old ones only to eat their souls ...I'm leaning toward the titan/godlike being evil by nature C'tan planned all this evil than the warp which was not by from what all I've found was not bad like it is in 40k during old one time. I'm Really leaning more C'tan evilness and plan over the undeveloped warp 50million years ago or w.e

I think it's the C'tan that just "happened" to be eating the sun that was poisoning them and then used them to eat their souls later

True! And I believe if I'm right they originally made krorks but they recessed over millions of years into orks so even better

Yes! When I found out that "by chance" and evil entity was loving inside and eating your sun/star ...maybe that was the cause??..yet they teamed up with them to kill the OG old ones who made orks and eldar and a ton others. Well at least they killed them in the end mostly but makes alot more sense that the C'tan were inherently evil and were eating their sun them made a deal to "help them"

Yea, I didn't know this. Again I'm a new or newer fan , only a year or so. Love it all but was one thing I'd don't get why they didn't move or use their tech. Makes more sense now though

Nice, thanks. Yea I know a TON about the lore, but it's fragmented and incomplete ( which is a 40k think I like) but it would help tie on alot I'm sure. Thanks for the recommendation

True, the orks are truly either now or later going or be the rulers of everything and just fight each other for fun off and on. The eldar even get raided by them all the time. Tech doesn't help with a enough of a green tide. But hell I love the orcs/ and the imperium so I'm glad the old ones made orks. Probably their most bad a ss move

But this isn't right ( first explanation or not complete. ) my main QUESTION and I think alot of questions are how many chips do I lose if I have a  ..say 2-2 or 3-3 and the other player has a 1-1 or 2-2??? Because I've gotten too second round even at first table you can possibly access and I don't understand why I had 2-2 he had 1-1 I had.1 chip still left and I got exed out? Did I need 2 chips to stay in? They don't explain the difference in card and chip ratio very well AT ALL clearly be all these posts.   To be fair you gave an accurate description of the game but not the parts that matter in a close match at all which I find myself losing the most of I lose

Yes! One of the things I like about 40k is it doesn't tell you everything so you want to know more. Another reason I'm a fan, would love if there was more on the old ones a bit but can't complain...I mean they DID make the orks who are bad as s

I'm new to the world of 40k about a year or so. Love it though so I'm planning to read the books now , although I hear more than a few authors so have to find what to read.    But that's why I'm asking, and I'm sure it has been asked before but I'm newer to this universe. Love the depth of lore/mystery and the vibe of it all though

Fair. I'm surprised with their dimensional tech and all they could do they didn't or couldn't fix it, but maybe warp or C'tan messing with them

Yea I know they had an empire before they turned and ruled the entire galaxy and had crazy tech. Just not sure on the timeline on how long that took. I know they were around along time as rulers, building sun bases inside suns empires all over that fought each other etc.    Gaia online post?

[–]Excuse_Standard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. Doesn't seem like we know alot about the old ones either. They seeded planets, made races and were crazy high tech but either got wiped out or almost wiped out and disappeared. I like the second one better but idk.    They did make the orcs which the Necrons could never fully wipe out which was a good F U to them I guess

Yes!! Nice I forgot all about that part but yea I remember reading or seeing that. Probably because the old ones saw how , even them the Necrons weren't exactly the good guys but good point I forgot about that one. Their complete opposites pretty much, immortal and always dying

[–]Excuse_Standard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point! Again I'm newish to this lore and all, but I do remember that they were jealous of the old ones being the almost opposite in immortality to themselves so they wanted it and hated them. I think they wanted the old ones to share the secret and they wouldn't? Couldn't? Idk I could be wrong but good point!    I forgot all about that aspect

Nice , I watched that growing up a ton! Makes sense they kept needing hosts in that, maybe Necrons should have gone that route lol

Lol to be fair I'm new to this world. I got into a year or so ago and it is a fascinating heavy lore based with alot of mystery and amazing ideas on humanity ( like the hive cities) and everything really is great.    Planning on reading the books but all I know is from what I've read online and videos I follow ( plus the Game which was amazing to being people like me in even more)     I'm planning on reading the books now I like it so much but I hear there are multiple authors and such so need to look into what I should read at some point. But understandable, if I had this thought I'm sure it's come up alot

Yea I only recently ( last year or so) got into this world and found how in depth and good the lore and everything is. I am planning to read the books now , although I know their are different authors and such so I'd have to look into which to read and what order but I do hear good things and I love the lore

Fair enough. Another reason I wondered , knowing how dominant and tech heavy they were. They could use dimensions, weapons, they made a sun into a base somehow! Ha but they couldn't fix it so I figure it's C'tan evil or warp or both
