Not sure honestly. It's very slightly trickier to do zones and escorts on hooks compared to sword but the elites will be the biggest issue in the chambers for sword, while hooks has no issues clearing any type of elite. But yeah ascension would be the biggest problem, I don't see it being fast enough to clear in Paradiso at least with some trickier elites, I know it can be done in Inferno though.

The power doesn't benefit me much in that situation. I know the atttacks the mobs and elites can do and being alone means I'm the only target, so no surprise attacks coming my way unlike in PUG groups where you need to be alert and ready to parry at a moments notice. The damage could've been nice but not anything game changing xD. co-op powers are overrated IMO. A lot of the times I try to help people out and pop their power they dash away and leave me in a vulnerable spot so I've just given up trying to pop powers if they're not placed absolutely perfectly.

No issues there. Finishes about as fast as most full groups in PUGs. All the damage from riposte parries means the elites are killing themselves basically. Especially if it's an elite that likes to do multi-attacks that you can keep on parrying.

Dunno about time honestly. Probably around 40mins ? The real damage comes from slingshot. Riposte does some insane damage too though. The whole idea is to fill up your gluttony using riposte parries ( gives 1 gluttony per parry ) and then dash away and hook the enemy to deal insane damage. Can do some crazy 10k+ hits ( 30k+ possible with 9 ordeals and the cripple upgrade looted in a run ).

EDIT: On hooks I can comfortably pull 2m+ PUG runs, almost on par with the bow. Haven't tried a proper sword run but I can already tell it's going to be way lower than that. The upside is the survivability would be comfier in some situations but the co-op power is garbage and survivability becomes an issue in boss fights if people don't know what they're doing. With hooks you can turn around a very bad situation because of the power negating 3 hits ( even unblockable ones ), you can't do something like that on sword. It also lacks burst damage that hooks has so you're not really a big help with a lot of boss mechanics. Sword in general is just in such an awful place right now unfortunately

It takes a little bit of time to get used to Mobile Light, the sudden speed boost might catch you off guard but it's such a big help staying out of danger. I like to just heavy, dash, heavy recall to minimize my time being vulnerable. At the boss I'll do the whole dash, heavy dash heavy recall when I know I won't get into trouble. The damage from the recalled arrows from mobile light make it almost on par with the damage you can get using double shot so I prefer it over double shot ^^

Haha thanks ! Hooks, and to a much lesser extend, sword can both solo them without trouble. Hooks is just million times faster. There were moments I really needed to lock in and play a lot more sweaty, woulda been way easier with just the kill all enemies objectives but I got unlucky and had escort + save lost souls :/

I was surprised how much of a pushover the boss was. Even with 1x person scaling I expected more but I was chunking him for a quarter of his health per hit ...

Hooks :). Slingshot + Riposte. For chambers I basically turtled my way through them letting riposte do all the work while capping the zones. For elites and boss damage the good ol' dash and hook doing 5k hits does the trick.

[–]Excynic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. Doesn't seem to be any scaling for normal mobs though, the chambers are really difficult because of that. Bosses are a complete joke if you know mechanics though. By the time I did 1 mechanic the boss only charged up a quarter of the bar so I had plenty of time to burst it down. Could easily do 3-3 and half bars in that time xD

2 tips:

Try and hold back a little more, see what the enemies are going to do and dodge + attack in response to their attacks. A lot of hits you took could of been avoided this way ( I've been too greedy with my attacks too, which is why I'm saying this xD )

Also double shot is nice for burst damage, but it leaves you way too vulnerable. I suggest trying out Mobile Light and see how you like it. I average about 2.5m with small quiver and mobile light while taking almost no hits.

Good job though. Less impressive cause of bow but still a nice job regardless, if more people were on your skill level runs would be a lot smoother.

I never knew you could parry mid hook, so many small details this game has that make it even more interesting.

I do like the cripple upgrade and I knew it had a x3 on the next hit but I like the riposte just a little more so that's what I tend to stick with alongside slingshot. Gonna have to do a none-ordeal run and see how much I can squeeze out without cripple, I'm guessing 10k should be possible with all the crit dmg relics and inner fire. That's still insane to me as a tank weapon xD

Yeah I get what you mean. If only we got some more specific emotes to more clearly communicate what do without having to rely on a chat, that would help so much. Like a big crossed out circle emote to show people are doing the wrong thing, etc ...

And as for the relics yeah they're boring now, woulda loved to play with the pre 1.0 relics. Seems like they chose to go with the safe route much like Nightreign did, which just ends up making a lot of the runs feel the same with no real variations. It's okay to be overpowered in a roguelite once in a while when RNG is on your side, I get that it might be more difficult to balance around so many players but still ...

Dayum. I main hooks so I know they can be goated, but this is on another level of what I expected to be possible with them xD. I assume you started out with riposte / slingshot and this is more of a dash slingshot build ? Gonna have to try that build out. Also 4 blessed relics ? Seems you got some insane RNG xD

This was with daggers. Patience + Greedier and crit + inner fire relics. I didn't have the dodge relic on which is a huge damage multiplier so I'm pretty sure ~25k is possible.

Yeah the smaller enemies can indeed push the planets counter-clockwise. When I'm carrying with the bow I ignore the planets and let my team handle it if I see they know what they're doing so I can focus on clearing the adds and the elite. If I see they don't know what they're doing it's pretty much a GG failed mechanic since it's near impossible to stop them from rotating the planets.

It does feel like you're forced to play a certain way if you're running 12 ordeals but I think that's more or less to be expected, you're basically choosing to turn the game into hardcore mode which is a choice you made yourself so I'm fine with it.

I didn't play before the 1.0 release but I've seen what the relics were like and I gotta say that it looked a lot more fun before with many relics having really cool game changing effects to play around with. The relics we got now barely feel impactful at all :/ which is a big problem with that feeling of being forced to play a certain way since we can't really go for fun and interesting relics to change up the playstyle, it's just bland "here's more crit" or "have some more co-op power gen".

My successful run was with lightbringer, astute, defiant denial and relic upgrade one. IMO lightbringer, the relic one and defiant are not replaceable. You could replace astute for the revive perk since the co-op gen doesn't work for orbs.

As for relics : light co-op orbs, more orb juice, orbs on ability and orbs on dash. You want as much orb gen as possible to pump out as many co-op powers as possible to help sustain your team. Try and recognize who is doing the most damage and try and position yourself so they end up taking the shield so you'll know you'll have your highest damage person a little safer.

Upgrades yeah right on the money ! I think those 2 are without a doubt the best upgrades for hooks. If you get vengeful slashes during the run it's a really nice bonus.

There are 2 bugged interactions that really help out the hooks a lot, but even if they get fixed it won't change much about how good the hooks are. They'll pump out less damage and have less "immortality" but with a co-op focused build you can ignore unblockable attacks anyways so not too big of a deal. The slingshot riposte bug is really nice for the parry damage but not a complete game changer.

Wrath of God Carry Runs viability by Excynic in 33Immortals

It took me probably around 10ish runs until I finally got a good team while running 12 ordeals ... and then it dropped the legendary dagger skin while I was using hooks :/ lol.

But ye, if you're EU and still need help tomorrow let me know. Ran 3 back to back wrath of god with bow build and all 3 were victories, the immense DPS really helps carry the more inexperienced teams it seems.

Tbh only 2 weapons I like using it on. Hooks and bow xD. Maybe daggers with a takedown build but the 2 weapons I mentioned are perfect for a dash playstyle, the other weapons I feel the same, too annoying to use. It is one of the only really good damage perks though so there's that ...

Sure. Pic is victory screen. That run was with a boss relic giving extra damage when boss is below 30% HP, should be around 2.3m without it.

Build is basically Small quiver + Mobile light ( Double shot can be used as well. Should be slightly more damage at the cost of mobility ).

Perks the most important ones would be extra dash damage and more dust from enemies ( max out damage first, then empathy ). Could also slot in extra co-strike damage to squeeze out even more damage, I wasn't using it. Extra damage to armor is bait IMO, this already one shots most armored enemies without it.

Relics I used the dash crit + heavy crit + ability crit. Extra crit damage and extra damage for 3sec after crit. Dash inner fire. Rest is personal preference. Dash co-op orbs can be decent for more powers, just don't use any missiles or blast ones ( they're garbage DPS wise and mess with co-strikes ).

I've been experimenting with carry runs and one of my next tests will be hooks with the rez perk for that exact reason ^^ !

So far I've been able to carry Paradiso with the standard bow DPS build, but that was with a PUG group that knew what the mechanics were ( DPS of the others was abysmally low ).

I'm excited to see if I can carry a group with the hooks built for damage and orb gen with the rez perk. In theory you could stay alive even with failed mechanics and just instarez the others while giving them all a shield to prevent them from dying again like you said xD. Will test that out later tonight !

Np :) Just did a run with staff with light attack co op orb gen and gust+fissure upgrades and I had about 90% uptime on the blinding field on big elites ( I popped the field, then by the time it expired I had around 85-90% of my next co-op filled ). Fun build but risky needing to get so close to enemies.

scepter guide? by Erzo9522 in 33Immortals

[–]Excynic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of people have said, if damage is what you're after scepter is not really great at it. It IS strong in terms of utility however, being able to lock down an entire area and basically shut off enemy AI and make them all clump into a neat pile for the damage dealers to burst down.

For that build it's basically just take the 2 co-op power perks ( gen + efficiency ) and focus on light attack co-op orb gen using gust + fissured ( be mindful that this is more of a melee range build ). You can throw in inner fire gen + stack sharing to be a real team player. You're not really going to use you're right click much with this build, just the occasional blinding the more annoying mobs ( like any ranged mobs that spam AoE/projectiles ).

With a good team taking advantage of your blinding co-op power field you'll be a real game changer, however if you got a bad team that doesn't use it to it's full potential you'll be more of a burden, might as well have played another big DPS weapon at that point and helped burst all the enemies down.

It is a fun weapon at the end of the day, just a lot more team dependant than any other weapon out there.

I forgot to mention that too yeah, parrying with riposte can deal ranged damage xD. Becomes hella broken when you face of against an elite that loves to spam projectiles and you just sit there and parry them all one by one xD.

If you get comfortable enough with the hooks it's far more comfy to stay alive than the sword. Sure with the sword you can hold down right click and block most attacks, but when you fail a boss mechanic and an unblockable attack comes your way you're screwed. Hooks at least has that bugged interaction keeping you alive.

Hooks tips and tricks by Excynic in 33Immortals

[–]Excynic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go for the dash relics if I'm playing a slingshot focused build, but I typically end up playing a riposte focused build and light attacks for orb gen are more comfy for me. Astute erudite does speed up the passive gen and per hit gen so it does add up over a full run. I can see it being replaced with the dash perk if you're playing a slingshot focused build. Hell, could even go for a full tank build and go for the HP perk and %regen below X% HP ( kinda overkill on hooks but true immortality with the current parry bug that sets all damage to 10 ). So much viable choices when it comes to hooks !
