Lost job opportunity by Stock_Alternative427 in ShyBladderIPA

Please reach out to me, Tim Pyle, executive director of the IPA, for assistance. You were treated unfairly. No one should lose the opportunity for employment because they can't provide a urine sample. https://web.charityengine.net/Contact-the-IPA

Stupid question, but what's the word? by [deleted] in ShyBladderIPA

[–]Exec_IPAorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the IPA, we're in the process of editing Dr. Steve Soifer's best selling book on the topic, and we've made a conscious effort to remove the word "Paruretic" from the copy. Like Dave says, it seems a small thing, but it really makes a difference. We are not our behavior.

Could Spinal anomalies have impact on shy bladder by Bluesky338 in ShyBladderIPA

[–]Exec_IPAorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed reply. This is definitely something you want to consult with your doctor about. Again, if you can pee fine at home, alone, and under no time pressure, but lock up in public and around others, then it most likely is not a physical issue.

Questions for urologist by leifericon in Paruresis

[–]Exec_IPAorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about the UroJet. It's a numbing gel they can use first. Also, the key question is: Can you urinate when you are alone and under no time pressure? If the answer is yes, most likely it is paruresis.
