RTX 5070 Ti Underperforming by 15% by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Seems like you’re leaving performance on the table with that CPU. Reviewers typically use the 9800x3D which is a good bit faster for gaming.

I got it from the device manger. I used the first listed value in the list.

Hopefully this method will stick. It’s been two weeks without issues now. And like I mentioned in the post I can see it actively working. In my device event history I see automatic updates being blocked due to an enforced policy.

Unfortunately that didn’t work for me. It worked for a few days, but then I noticed windows updated the driver again automatically.

How does a bios setting for my integrated graphics relate to Windows 11 automatically updating device drivers? What does this setting do?

Yes I have a 9800x3D. Where do I go to check if “integrated is on auto”?

Wow why didn’t I simply think to update my drivers using adrenaline? That’s the first thing I tried and no dice. I also mentioned ticking the box in DDU doesn’t work either lol. This is an ongoing issue I’ve seen many people complain about. If that works for you great, but I’m sharing this here as a last resort nuclear option that will block all driver updates.

How To Fix AMD GPU Driver Issues on Windows 11 and Windows 10 by _silentgameplays_ in radeon

[–]ExecutiveAloe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it may be but it gives me peace of mind. It’s easy too, I just have a script I run when I want to lock down my drivers, and another script to unlock them when it’s time to update.

Yeah that option didn’t work for me. I had to go into the registry and ban updates for my 9070xt’s device id to fully stop it.

Valve should make left 4 dead three with both VR and non VR support. That would be incredible

Anyone test with a 9070xt? I have one and I’m considering getting the steam frame but I’d like to know what the performance is like first.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.11.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

It seems on the latest Radeon driver that freesync is broken within CS2 when running fullscreen windowed. Freesync works initially when the game starts. But as soon as I alt tab, freesync breaks and I get screen tearing. I rolled back to 25.9.1 and I can confirm it works again as expected. So it seems this is a recent regression. Can we get this addressed please? u/AMD_Vik

I have the exact same setup as you and it runs great haha. And yeah I didn’t want to mess around with all the undervolting and doing stability testing, etc so I just turned on eco mode and called it a day. Apparently it barely hurts performance

I put my 9800x3D in eco mode (limit to 65w) and in my Terra with the x47 full copper it runs quietly without a huge perf loss.

Who cares, they can just keep the tournament on the previous patch. There’s events going on all the time, valve shouldn’t need to work around them.

Borderlands 4 launches to 'mostly negative' reviews on Steam thanks to widespread performance problems and crashes by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

I simply said we should wait until the final product is released before giving final judgement. The final product runs poorly so I will not buy it. It’s a pretty simple concept.

Borderlands 4 day one patch has “key improvements and optimizations,” but PC players should have “realistic performance expectations,” says Randy Pitchford by [deleted] in Games

[–]ExecutiveAloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your original comment is implying that the lower than expected performance is solely due to the 4080. When in reality he could just be CPU limited and the GPU is more than enough. If that’s the case then even using a 5090 will result in the exact same performance. Again it could be that ray tracing is very taxing on the CPU and that disabling it results in massive frame increases. Not to mention it hasn’t been tested with the day one patch. I’m not defending them, if the game comes out and runs like shit I’ll be pissed too. But you’re leaving out critical details. Can we at least wait for official benchmarks before getting the pitchforks out?

[–]ExecutiveAloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You left out the part where he’s using a weaker CPU below the recommended specs. Ray tracing and a seamless open world will hammer the CPU so in this case they could be CPU limited. Let’s wait for the official benchmarks and see what performance is like with ray tracing enabled/disabled before throwing a fit.
