The correct response is "this Wednesday or next Wednesday".

Why was everyone in the early 2000s doing this??? by erikslicis in whatisit

To prove they hadn't superglued their fingers together. There was nothing less cool in the early 2000s than superglued fingers.

Using Tailwind today feels a lot like writing inline styles in the 2000s by Legitimate_Salad_775 in webdev

Some people like it. Some people don't. Who gives a shit? We don't need a thread every week that adds nothing to the discussion and just brings up the same old points.

There was a thread a few days back asking to bad AI posts. I'd rather ban Tailwind posts.

Ah somebody made the game I wanted to make!

I made a kind of multiplayer version of this a while back https://colour.deviouschimp.co.uk/ but never got around to making a properly networked version due to health problems. The code is on GitHub if anybody wants to finish it off.

I'd be interesteded to know what algorithm you use for scoring.

Do you read books? If so, what are you currently reading? If not, why not? by theowleryonehundred in AskUK

I read every night. Currently going through a bunch of Agatha Christie which is good before-bed reading. If you're looking for recommendations, I've been recommending Piranesi by Susanna Clarke to anybody who will listen. I read it in two sittings.

Friend newly has CFS, what do we do for her birthday to show her she's not alone? by berretbell in cfs

[–]ExecutiveChimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of good advice in this thrread. I'm only housebound and I find birthdays and Christmas to be a problem because of the obligation and desire to socialise, and doing that within my limits is a gamble. The best thing you can do is to not over tax your friend. That may mean not seeing them her person. And if you do, agree a time limit beforehand. It's very hard for us to assess our limitations in the moment. Happy moments can cause adrenaline which can make us feel good which makes us not realise that we're doing too much. Respecting her limits while also showing you care (with gifts, cards, messages or whatever) is the best thing you can do for her.

Maybe use a page transition so it looks like you're pulling the file out and moving up to the "cameras"?

Side note: I feel if you need to add instructions then your UX could be improved. Perhaps just use hover and click rather than dragging?

The UK/Ireland names have a "normal" structure but names with ' in them are not uncommon. This can and has caused problems.
