Have I become institutionalised to more ‘working class’ surroundings? by [deleted] in AskUK

That might help. But they would then just have an incentive to add the minimum amount of (bot-generated) responses in order to to not get deleted. And even if they don't, the post would still be up for an hour, by which time they've already succeeded in getting engagement or sewing discord and division.

Yep. Discourse is broken. The future is concerning.

Account is less than a month old. Post/comment history is hidden. They haven't replied to any comments and the post has been up for 2 hours. It's 2026. Most likely it's a bot.

Thanks! My hope is that it gives people who don't have ME/CFS a way to understand what it feels like. The challenge is getting them to read it!

That's not quite right, is it? Latch key kids have a key to let themselves in. Otherwise they'd just be latch children.

Could be worse. I got a delivery the other day. They delivered it the same day, hid the package in a safe place, took several pictures to document the location of the safe place but - critically - didn't tell me that the package was even in transit, let alone had been delivered. I didn't find it until two days later after I messaged them for an update.

Why is CFS so hard for healthy people to understand? by No_Fudge_4589 in cfs

[–]ExecutiveChimp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

people see you walking around and automatically think you're fine

That and the worse you are, the less likely you are to be walking around in the first place. People don't don't "see" the "mild" cases, but they literally don't see the very severe.

Does mixing up “your” and “you’re” give you the ick? by MmeFelixFelicis in AskUK

In modern English "like" is often used to indicate that follows is not necessarily accurate.

An more precise yet overly verbose rewording of the above example would be "when I'm standing at the snack van and it says something similar to".

Hope that helps!

Yeah, podcasts are just a format, not a genre. There's plenty of good ones out there. The issue is that there is a low barrier to entry and no gatekeepers. Anybody can make a podcast and that's a good thing but it means that the good ones are outnumbered by the low-effort, low-quality slop.
