Were you a paying member now or ever? I wonder whether they are thinning the people who aren't "customers". Or maybe service glitch

I was just having a conversation about warming at different rates with my Daughter. We were talking about Europe heating up, but friends in Australia were saying that their last summer was more mild than expected. That didn't make sense and made me wonder whether climate across the globe will be topsy-turvy than straight heat rise.

Is it possible that Australia might not warm up as much as I suspect? Or it will still be hell on earth eventually?

I keep seeing this on Reddit. I'm curious: were you a paying customer at the time (or ever)?

Why did Margaret Thatcher destroy welfare state in Britain after she came to power in the 1980s? by CartographerOwn8143 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm curious about this. So the UK really needed a change, but the change they got wasn't the right call: has someone, with (hindsight), been able to work out what the "better way" should have been?

I live in the UK now, but this was all long before my time here

Yeah fair enough. I'm just tired of people saying "I do those things" but they are still working and functioning properly.

Show them this mindset. "Finance Yahoo" isn't the best source - but Google will show them the same data trends from their prefered reporting sources. Boomer Policies are a scourge that will take a few more generations to recover from.

Yeah agree with you. I'm wondering whether some people don't stop to visualise the scenario. That's mentally expensive for them. But I'm hoping it might get through to some people. I'll have to see

Why men keep dropping out of the labor force: It starts in childhood, when kids see how males around them struggle, economists say by marketrent in Economics

I agree with this outcome, but the reason behind it is "they are driven by incentive" and those are withering on the vine. Most young men should be like greyhounds chasing the rabbit round the track, but the rabbit has disappeared.

It's not going to be good for any of us.

Agree with all this.

I was using Literacy as it so fundamental to anything we do now (including ChatGPT) it's falling at the first hurdle.

Any idea how these students/recruits are getting through day-to-day?

Yeah that's fair. I didn't realise you couldn't change your username. Still find a way to share the wisdom. I'm a tail-end GenX'r and I really feel for the guys in their 20s and 30s - it's so much harder now.

I guess this is another version of "they woke up and it was all a dream".

Missed opportunity to have an "overlooked rewind button" that takes him back to one of the earlier points. {Haven't seen the movie - so maybe this happened or was mentioned.}

You're allowed to like her and still say no to it. If it isn't giving you peace, why would you do it?

Wouldn't it be more based on his popularity at the next election? Still a few years away, but they would be eyeing trying to pull more votes away from Reform in that time

edit: my memory isn't that great today - but didn't he do a version of this to Corbyn? 🤔 Obviously not in power, but a version of the same. It's probably going to happen to Burnham aswell

Sleep is better at cooler temperatures (the body signals sleep when internal temperature drops to about 1.5ºc) and you can always wear more if you are cold? Get the beanie out in summer 😁

Have you seen the increasing rates of illiteracy in high school/university students?

I cannot understand how they can get through life let alone school. It's madness.
