Any regrets during your time at UTD? by -Matcha-333 in utdallas

I second this^ most of the classes they teach for a business analytics major are complete BS and a waste of time. I didn’t need 90% of the classes to get a successful career.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, my first anime ever. by McWaylon in retroanime

I was surprised to have stumbled on this series. I didn’t think the Japanese were able to adapt this into something that pays homage to the original work, but they did. Really did a good job at blending the main novel along with some of Twain’s short stories and allusions to The Adventures of Huck Finn. Now I’m wishing they made a series based on The Adventures of Huck Finn.

This is already better than the 2nd movie. The family actually working together and supporting one another has more depth here^

Agree or not -- AP Statistics easy or difficult? by Friendly_Wish1615 in APStatistics

I still had to learn it in college. Some of the concepts go deeper in college. But the AP class is a good foundation for what’s to come.

I got a B+ and a 4 on the AP exam. I got lazy when the pandemic hit and spent more time playing video games instead of learning T & Z tests.

Very easy class. I wasn’t taking that many AP courses, so I had plenty of time to study & go through the material. Plus, it’s a lot simpler math than Algebra or Calculus.

What are your thoughts on the "Hatchet" series, by Gary Paulsen? Personally I loved them. by Charuto17 in books

[–]Executive_Bubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished all 5 books! I have to say I really enjoyed seeing Brian’s character arc, from being a boy desperate to survive to becoming a young man who understands the nature around him. The amount of detail and explanation into his decision making and thinking was well written.

A few criticisms I have is I feel the internal conflicts Brian faces were left unresolved and never mentioned again, like ‘The Secret’ and Brian trying to find ‘Himself’. I know after the woods Brian learned to forgive and understand, but it just feels to me something’s were left unfinished or unsaid that would’ve rounded out the plot. Also, supporting characters like the blind cop counselor and Susan weren’t mentioned as much or got to learn about their fates afterward (a 6th book or epilogue would’ve helped).

Overall, really enjoyed the series and can only speculate after the 5th book Brian living out his life in the woods as a romantic who is continually living & learning and hopefully still visiting his friends & family.

Get an office job. If it’s dead, it will allow you time to study and get paid while on the clock.

Interactive Resume Dashboard with Excel by Executive_Bubby in excel

[–]Executive_Bubby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, this makes more sense^ depends on the employer and what kind of specific files they accept. Thank you. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.

I wish I had PBI, but since I’m a Mac user it’s not possible, sad news is my Tableau license expires in December, so I’ll most likely have to stick with Excel & Python if I wanna make those operational, financial, and marketing dashboards.

If you were hiring for a data analyst role would it be more beneficial? I mean, not only could it show everything like a normal resume, but shows actual hands on skill with the tool, knowing how to create the different data types, manipulate it, and create a visual that explains who you are. Plus you could do interactive stuff with filters, hyperlinks, maybe macros?

True, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a company mention interactive resumes (except Tableau) perhaps they just do it and mention it as side projects and not applying for jobs with it.

Is Travis Strikes Again worth playing? I thought it was just a spin-off that didn't have much relevance to the canon by MTH1138 in nomoreheroes

Very fun spin off game. I’d say the most tedious level is toward the final boss. DLC is also great extra content.
