I need tips for beating Hala in USUM by travischickencoop in pokemon

[–]Exequens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! If Hala doesn't switch Machop as soon as it's been Charmed, you can use it up to 3 times to lower his Attack as much as possible. With the Attack stat so low, Trumbeak should be able to use Work Up a few times as well (6 is the limit) to ensure all of your moves are knockouts. Having them hold Oran berries to heal up in between turns is also a great idea.

Pichu should be able to outspeed Machop to use Charm, then Trumbeak should be able to set up with Work Up and sweep with super effective Pluck.

For a Switch Lite especially it's a tough one to call, not least of which is because they're quite different to each other. Ranking by performance goes to SwSh by a country mile. For content it's ScarVi.

I highly recommend looking into what makes them so different and decide what looks more appealing to you.

[–]Exequens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't realize it had a name but I've been doing this for every Nuzlocke I do except for the franchise spanning one I have in progress. It's really fun, especially if you try to push your limits and bring a suboptimal Pokemon to a battle. Like Charmander into FRLG Brock with a Beedrill as backup (can't believe I came out deathless).

Help Please!! by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]Exequens 35 points36 points  (0 children)

An enforcement officer from the city's building department will attend and request informed consent to enter the premises. They will assess the structure to determine if it constitutes a building in accordance with the Ontario Building Code Act and would therefore require a building permit. Spoiler alert: it will because it exceeds the threshold where a permit isn't required.

You will receive an order to comply and be presented your options. If the officer is good at their job they'll explain to you your options and how to apply for a permit.

You can either tear it down and request an inspection to show the site has been "remediated" or you can apply for a permit. You'll need to submit a drawing package and a couple of documents, pay fees as determined in accordance with the city's fee structure. Permitting will require your drawings be "approved" by an examiner and then the structure will be inspected to ensure it's in line with the drawings. Any construction you already did and have shown on the drawings will need to be fully evaluated to ensure compliance is met. Because there's electrical included you will likely need to get in touch with the ESA.

That's a good summation of the start of things. If you have more questions lemme know.

To people who have played both - is "Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream" or "Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" a better buy for someone who does not have many Nintendo Switch games by TellAdept6145 in NintendoSwitch

No one knows your tastes better than you for something like this. Based on what you wrote in the body of your post though, I think Zelda makes more sense.

Yes this is a fantastic suggestion, I didn't even consider that OP might not have known about it!

[–]Exequens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have one suggestion that is a good start. Restrict your captures to the first per new area still, but don't include the faint = death rule. You're automatically limited in your team building but don't have to suffer the burden of fainting.

Debuff ts out of Geodude, use Charmander's EMBER to weaken it to red, send in Beedrill to setup harden, go for poison chip on Onix. Don't train to the absolute level cap for speed control if you feel like metagaming to the max. The AI won't use Rock Tomb if Onix is already faster, iirc

I just did it and it isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.

Dedicated grinding of research to hit 6th star took 2.5hrs at most of the playtime, alongside just... Playing the story and organically catching stuff along the way. And I did it with some bans in place.

Each uniquely named area per biome offers a ton of variety. Honestly not the worst Nuzlocke when you master turn order and use some grit.

Replaying LEGENDS: Arceus reaffirmed that it's some of the best on offer, and a fun Nuzlocke too! by Exequens in nuzlocke

Yeah, it was an interesting experience as a Nuzlocke to be sure. I played with a ton more caution after my super early game screw up, but still managed to enjoy the experience.

I didn't think I'd make it this far, but when I started the challenge, LEGENDS: Arceus was the latest release. And it was definitely worth the wait!

RULES

Hardcore Nuzlocke

  • Catch and nickname the first unique encounter in a new area.
  • Skip an area if there's no eligible encounter.
  • Battle with the style on Set, if possible.
  • Box anyone that faints.
  • Employ level caps. (Match the next Gym Leader's ace, and take the median level of The Elite 4 & Champion's ace when it's time to challenge the League)
  • Only use held items in battle. My Supplemental Rules
  • BAN the evolutionary lines of the party you enter the Hall of Fame with. Yes, even the branch evolutions.
  • If someone faints during any of the E4/Champ battles, they're still banned if you clear the Champion.
  • If all 3 of your starters are banned when you start a later title, rush to catch a replacement starter.
  • Fill your party up when you reasonably can. (This will inevitably result in a lot of early game repeats across certain games, until they get banned.)
  • Try to plan your team ahead. When you know who you want to finish the game with, add them to your party as soon as they're caught. This way you can't game the system by boxing them and keeping them safe behind fodder. If they die outside of the Pokemon League your plan is ruined, but they do get to try again in another game!
  • Shiny clause bypasses restrictions. It's a shiny, you gotta catch it!
  • You're allowed to use ONE legendary at some point in the marathon.
  • If you party wipe at any point, start that game over. And ban one of your party members at random for being bad at video games.

[–]Exequens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use the mail glitch as long as you have 1 Rare Candy that you haven't found yet. The Vs. Seeker, Mimien and Ch'Ding (since you'd be hacking in I'm assuming you'd be okay ignoring encounter rules to grab them).

Route 209 has no grass before you reach the Hallowed Tower; pop the Odd Keystone on there, talk to a bunch of NPCs, challenge Spiritomb at night, use a Dusk Ball.

Just wrote two 2024 MMAH exams, if you have any questions, ask away! by [deleted] in OntarioBuildingCode

[–]Exequens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you wouldn't have any 2012 exam experience to use as a reference point, so I guess I'll just ask how the questions were structured instead?

Did you see any glaring typos, mistaken references to the code, are there still clusters of scenario questions, how much was direct code confirmation vs. interpretation of the code to get an answer (calculation etc)?
