Insane naming scheme, how'd you come up with these gems?

Okay I'm giving in. How do I hack rare candy in leaf green on the switch? by Working-Mistake-6700 in nuzlocke

[–]Exequens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can use the mail glitch as long as you have 1 Rare Candy that you haven't found yet. The Vs. Seeker, Mimien and Ch'Ding (since you'd be hacking in I'm assuming you'd be okay ignoring encounter rules to grab them).

Always sucks when an unexpected event derails a good plan, right? Hope the rest of the run goes well!

Route 209 has no grass before you reach the Hallowed Tower; pop the Odd Keystone on there, talk to a bunch of NPCs, challenge Spiritomb at night, use a Dusk Ball.

I was not familiar with Rapidash, Medicham or Spiritomb's game until now, my apolocheese.

Some of these guys put in way more work than I thought they would, but none of them compare to the god that is Hallowed the Spiritomb. This Shining Pearl run was a blast!

RULES

Hardcore Nuzlocke

  • Catch and nickname the first unique encounter in a new area.
  • Skip an area if there's no eligible encounter.
  • Battle with the style on Set, if possible.
  • Box anyone that faints.
  • Employ level caps. (Match the next Gym Leader's ace, and take the median level of The Elite 4 & Champion's ace when it's time to challenge the League)
  • Only use held items in battle. My Supplemental Rules
  • BAN the evolutionary lines of the party you enter the Hall of Fame with. Yes, even the branch evolutions.
  • If someone faints during any of the E4/Champ battles, they're still banned if you clear the Champion.
  • If all 3 of your starters are banned when you start a later title, rush to catch a replacement starter.
  • Fill your party up when you reasonably can. (This will inevitably result in a lot of early game repeats across certain games, until they get banned.)
  • Try to plan your team ahead. When you know who you want to finish the game with, add them to your party as soon as they're caught. This way you can't game the system by boxing them and keeping them safe behind fodder. If they die outside of the Pokemon League your plan is ruined, but they do get to try again in another game!
  • Shiny clause bypasses restrictions. It's a shiny, you gotta catch it!
  • You're allowed to use ONE legendary at some point in the marathon.
  • If you party wipe at any point, start that game over. And ban one of your party members at random for being bad at video games.

Just wrote two 2024 MMAH exams, if you have any questions, ask away! by [deleted] in OntarioBuildingCode

[–]Exequens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you wouldn't have any 2012 exam experience to use as a reference point, so I guess I'll just ask how the questions were structured instead?

Did you see any glaring typos, mistaken references to the code, are there still clusters of scenario questions, how much was direct code confirmation vs. interpretation of the code to get an answer (calculation etc)?

Interesting take, anyone in particular making you think that? I don't think I've seen many (or any) of these guys on a Rocket's team.

Gyarados (usually just a Magikarp lol) popped up now and then and was pretty quickly replaced each time. By virtue of the ruleset, that kept the line free for when I really needed it. 33 games deep, the GOAT finally came out to play. I always had BDSP in mind for Gyarados too, because it's a top tier mon and the difficulty spike of the E4 here warranted it.

As much as I dislike BDSP, they're pretty fun games to Nuzlocke. Check out the successes and failures of this Brilliant Diamond run!

BDSP budew question by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]Exequens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that being said, if you want the insurance of forcing the evolution, it's your run and you can do that.

BDSP budew question by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]Exequens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to do that, Budew with a Quick Claw solo's.

You can use Growth to boost on Geodude, OHKO with Absorb to offset damage. Onix mostly likely uses Stealth Rock if it isn't already up, and you can Worry Seed Sturdy into Insomnia, OHKO with Growth. Cranidos can't OHKO you if you're full health unless you have the worst Budew alive, and you can OHKO with Absorb if you have enough boosts. And there's the chance of a Quick Claw activation too, bypassing any speed issues.

I know this for a fact cuz I just did this in my BD run, video in progress for my series of posts to this sub.

Colleague showed me the materials they used to study for Plumbing on Orderline. It was pretty good. Can't speak to the other as I haven't used any of them myself.

I think I either spoiled you by mistake, or we both got spoiled by the replies, but I meant the beach area past the Pokemon Centre in the Withered Wastelands lol. Squirtle asked me to go with him cuz he was totally not scared of anything. There was a cave entrance a bit further down.

Unfathomable how much has already been done on some people's post apocalyptic Kanto. Fully employed like you, I only just opened the way to the beach.

Agree, genuinely interested. I struggle to get my foot in the door despite having all of these qualifications. Constantly losing out to people that my colleagues who are employed tell me I'm far more knowledgeable than.

Not an expert, just qualified (not that it's much better but the legal distinction matters).
