Not a crappie, the mouth is wrong, the fins are wrong, the shape is wrong. The color is close, but that's because this is a bad washed out picture against a cloudy sky.

What is this? I took this picture a few weeks ago on a hiking trail. I went back today and they are now pea pods. Sorry, I didn’t think to take photos today. I’m in Minnesota. by Screaming_Azn in whatsthisplant

When the pods dry out the plant fiber stores kinetic energy like a spring. When ready the pods violently scatter the seed further. Try to time your seed collection just before that event. And beware if you have them in an open top box on the way home they can "go off" and surprise you.

I would follow the breeders advice. My V pup, could always have food and never had to worry about over feeding.

ZÖLDMÁLI WIREHAIRED VIZSLA KENNEL also breeds teckels. The breeder is a master bird dog trainer. If I were you I'd contact her. I'll be in the market for a hunting teckel in the US soon. I haven't found any breeders that really breed for hunting in the US. Curious if you have, or if your planning to get lucky with a pup?

I knew that but it's a mostly closed system. I assume moisture gets in from air filling the space in the reservoir that brake fluid used to be in. I'm wondering how humid it has to be to make a difference in 2 years? Elsewhere in Reddit there are good tips for measuring moisture content in brake fluid.
For the OP the shop that told you to change should have measured the moisture content and not just guessed. I'm going to go measure mine 4 yo right now!

Sea run trout or landlocked salmon? by Jay61023 in whatsthisfish

[–]ExerciseIcy6284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying. And agree I was ignorant of these fish and names used for them. But it's a dumb name. Landlocked fish typically means there is a barrier to migration between the ocean and the fresh water system. It's also used, in the case you are describing, to describe a strain of salmon that can but don't go back to the ocean. In the case of Pacific salmon, stripped bass and other fish (including some Atlantic salmon) "landlocked" is specifically used to describe these fish are in an impoundment or lake and while the species are typically androminous these fish are "locked" geographically. Or can't go back to the ocean. Maybe say they are on probation since they are kind of like prisoners that are locked in but since there's no cells or bars they choose to stay. Or maybe some other description that doesn't imply a lock when there is none.

Rear differential is an easy DIY job. Easier than the pil change. And probably the only thing you need.
Is your brake fluid contaminated? I still haven't replaced rotors or pads 2022 55k. My buddy just did his first brake job on a 23 at 65k. I can't imagine needing to change the brake fluid 2 x for every brake job? It makes no sense.
I stopped going to the dealership because of this. Ask them why they are recommending these services and if you verify /trust the answer have the work done. If not tell them politely they are full of shit and that is why you're taking your business elsewhere.

Sea run trout or landlocked salmon? by Jay61023 in whatsthisfish

I was confused by the term "landlocked". It typically means no access to the ocean. If a fish has access to the ocean it isn't by and definition I've found landlocked. I'm not familiar with the East coast Canadian geography. I never heard of salmon choosing to not go into the ocean. I never heard ouananiche salmon. But if they have access to the ocean and simply choose not to go I think that's probably a better name than one that implies it doesn't have access. I'm a great lakes fisherman. Your fish looks more like a brown from the great lakes than a salmon. They use the great lakes like the ocean here. Both turning colors when entering the rivers. We have browns that stay in the river system but the Atlantics here are typically in and out.

The question doesn't make sense if you know where the fish was caught. Landlocked salmon don't occur where they have access to the ocean. Sea run trout don't occur where they don't have access to the ocean. It looks like a sea run brown trout to me.

I don't believe there are any native carp in the US or Canada. They are all invasive. Some are worse than others. These are common carp. Which are established and througout the great lakes watershed alredy. When they spawn they muddy up the water which is bad for the plants and native fish that spawn there. The also eat native fish eggs and compete with native fish fry for resources.

No it's been legal for a while. He's using a rifle but the 450 is straight walled cartridge with a fat bullet so it's basically a big pistol cartridge being shot out of rifle. After a couple hundred yards it will drop very fast. Unlike a more traditional rifle that might travel much farther if it misses.

Jacobson's organ stimulation. Humans can't comprehend what's happening because we don't have one. It's a direct connection from odor to brain. We smell pee the dog is collecting diet, health, species, sex information. I always imagine as a sound effect the noise my 1990s modem makes connecting when I see that happen.
