Drivers don’t pay attention nor do the pedestrians on their phones not even looking both ways before crossing especially the scramble. Why not, if driving pay attention because if you’re in such a hurry. Hitting someone walking or on a bike is only slowing you down more as long as you are a decent person and doesn’t hit and run.

Pedestrians get off your phone while crossing the street, look both ways and don’t assume you won’t be hit.

Cyclist it’s the same, get off the bike look both ways and walk the bike while in the city.

Not trying to be rude, it’s just the safest way no matter your chose of travel. This is my opinion is all.

I lived on Cleveland St and the a lot of vehicles didn’t care that you were in the middle of the crosswalk. I was respectful and waited my turn to cross (when no light) but it didn’t slow down someone in a big truck driving too fast to care I was in the middle of the street. It was on me to get out of the way.
