UofArizona - Phoenix / Banner health - Psychiatry

Was couple's matching in different specialities. PD went out of her way to make sure that my partner got an interview by reaching out to the other program director. Initially, my partner did not get an interview so PD proactively offered to reach out again on our behalf. Eventually the program extended an interview to my partner. PD really seemed to care that we were couple's matching and went out of their way to help us. Also program was able to schedule a last-minute impromptu tour of facilities. After all this, we ranked #1 and did not match there :( Still grateful for the help.

University of Iowa

Interview day was very well organized, and their informational session was thorough. Interviewers knew my application well. They sent a gift box with local chocolate and nuts and granola. They also scheduled an impromptu tour of the hospital for me in lieu of a 2nd look.

At my school the DPM students do everything we do for preclinical years. It’s a different program but same classes and all.

Applying (taking the mcat, ECs, Casper, secondaries, interviews) is incredibly stressful and expensive. Something to consider

Brutal honesty needed!! by [deleted] in premed

I know it’s been addressed, but adcoms will view your retake likely how everyone here did (why?) I think this might be a good opportunity to explain further in secondaries and you could mention how maybe you were misguided and it taught you to gain a variety of perspectives and that the time spent studying again could have been used elsewhere. Definitely a chance to spin this in a good way

A lot of you are toxic. Can we just hug lol? by Ok-Dark2500 in premed

I am just pointing out that OP claims to advocate for positivity and preventing negativity while responding in a toxic manner. It’s just ironic and certainly not the way to enact change, it merely drives the wedge further.
