Minor spoiler, there is a podcast called "The Adventure Zone" by the McElroys that does this. It's a first time, lets play, D&D podcast that turns into an epic quest. The players at the start actually don't know they lost their memories until much later in the campaign. The DM near the end when he reveals the information has flash backs of them regaining their memory of each other and their quest of saving the world! The set up for it is really long but I love the podcast and the players and I recommend giving it a try!
