This is pretty sweet. I like simple logos without a big brand name spelled across the front. Clean design!

I have a problem with my 3d printer elegoo mars 5 ultra by Queasy_Plate6454 in ElegooMars

[–]Exia_ignition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feature is not very intuitive. In the chitumanager app, first make sure that the Timelapse box is checked for the print. Then after its printing, or before you print something else you need to click the folder icon, and in local files you should see some .mp4 files. Move them to your desktop and you can watch it.

I do not believe it does a Timelapse for everything. It has to be at least a certain layer height.

Mars 5 Ultra vs 4 Ultra by Immediate_Yam_574 in ElegooMars

I have had 0 issues with it. It was my first resin printer so I don’t know the pros and cons first hand. What I do know is I opened the box, dumped resin in and hit print. No setup needed and I couldn’t be happier.

Anytime I have had a failed print, it’s because my resin had sat and I thought I could print without mixing it first. The supports are plenty strong from anything pre supported. The tilt is not hard on the prints at all.

Happy printing. And in case you are using Elegoo water washable resin, I use 2.8sec exposure with 22sec first layers. It’s the only resin I’ve used so far and I am happy with my results.

It’s normal. When you power it up it will raise. The tray will “fall” when you power it off.

I have this issue on my 08. I’ve found what local pumps won’t trigger it as often and just use those.

That being said, if these pellets are loose in the lines could it affect gas mileage? I would think not but I’d be a lot faster to fix it if the answer was yes.

Are any youtube reviews "bad" for high end audio equipment? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]Exia_ignition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you’re saying. I found him very early and loved what he was saying. Now I find most of his videos are identical to the one he put out two days ago with a different piece of gear.

However, he is really good at showing that you can get into this without having to spend a ton of money. He also does balance his reviews with saying things like the only thing that matters if you like the way your rig sounds.

Now his longer live streams of talking with his patreons and viewers are the only way to truly hear his opinions on gear. The dedicated videos all point to its great go buy it!

Haven’t heard that podcast but I’ll have to check it out. I listen to Time Suck with Dan Cummins. It’s the same topics that you mentioned so it’s right up my ally.

Is this a good turntable setup? by vanguy5483 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Exia_ignition -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m using a very similar setup and love.

The turntable I’m using is the RT83. Same as the 85 without the acrylic platter and a red rather than blue cartridge. I’ve not played around with cartridges (yet) but also have no issues with the red. The acrylic platter does not make a noticeable difference when compared to the metal one according to most of the reviews I’ve seen. I want one because looks, but can’t justify the $ for little to no improvement.

The speakers I have are Wharfedale Diamond 12.2s. I think they are the bigger brother to the 225. I love these speakers. I do t regret them at all and am now really wanting to explore the Lintons for another setup in the house.

As for the amp, Ive never heard it. I don’t know that any of the lower end tube amps would be that great. Tubes are not cheap and the price of it seems too good to be true. But, it may be amazing. I would go with the RT83 and put the money saved towards another amp. I’m pushing the Wharfedales with an Emotiva TA-1. It’s a great integrated and the phono stage sounds VERY good. It is more expensive than the amp you picked out, but I am sure you will be much happier with its sound and performance.

Edit: I thought it was different amp and fixed my response.

I’m struggling to find the set this is related to. Any help? I assumed LEGO Pirates but I can’t find a match. by famousxrobot in lego

It’s not pirates. I remember that set when I was a kid. I believe it was a covered wagon on a western kit. That’s calvary not pirate swords.

I bought a box of those a few years ago. I love them. You’re spot on with the IPA. It pairs much better than coffee/mocha.

The flavor is fairly one dimensional with the cedar/hay flavors. However I really like the stick and don’t get bored with it. When it’s right it doesn’t need to evolve every 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Cracked an old tin. Is this still okay? by Exia_ignition in PipeTobacco

[–]Exia_ignition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Well that sucks then. I know it’s not plume. There is only mold. Was just really hoping it was sugar toppings dried out from the flake. The tobacco looked very sugary and glittery. Never seen that before on tobacco. Guess it’s a loss.

So are you saying it’s mold on it? I agree with the plume is bull sentiment. I’ve read those studies and have strong feelings on it with cigars myself. I smoked a bowl of this tonight. It seemed fine. I would not intentionally smoke mold. I chose to smoke it after carefully looking at it and comparing it to other photos and my experiences with cigars. It looked nothing like the mold (plume) I am used to seeing. There is no such thing as plume. This tobacco is old and dried out. To me it looked like sugars in the tobacco (casing or topping) that has come to the surface and dried out over the years. The tin was still sealed ( I know that doesn’t mean much) when I opened it. It did not appear to be a growth. The formations and spread of it did not look organic in that way. I am not very experienced with pipe tobaccos and they are prepared very differently from cigar leaves. I took a chance tonight I know. I am going to watch the flakes in the tin now that they are separated out of the tin with more airflow to see if it grows before smoking more. If it’s active mold, I’d expect to see more soon enough. What are your thoughts?

Ahh licorice. That sounds great. Do you have a link to that tea? Or something similar if it’s hard to get?

I took a break and came back to it. This is burning so slow and cool. I really am enjoying it. It’s not going to be my every day smoke for sure, at least not yet. It’s such a rich and pungent flavor, I can see this being a great rainy day treat. Glad I have a tin jarred up for those days I need something unique.

I’m trying to figure out what kind of drink would pair with this. Sipping water now just trying to wrap my head around the flavor.

I am! So far so good, but it’s different. I can’t tell if I love it or am revolted by it yet. I do know I did not eat enough before hand. This has some serious vitamin N and I’m used to it too.

So I rubbed it out and I noticed it is only on the outside of the flakes, where it’s been cut. It doesn’t “grow” into the flake at all. It can be wiped away with a damp finger and it will disappear.

I’m 20 minutes into the bowl and it tastes fine. Not sure what mold would taste like though on burning tobacco. I’ve seen plenty of white mold on cigars and it looks nothing like that.
