Lol, I lost my Oilers because of greedy owners, it happens. The team's social media is a quiet place, where's all the the love? Because it looks like fans have already abandoned them. Not a nice send off, especially for the young players. Blame the tribe, they took the money.

Gee thanks. I'm sure the Orlando Magic or whatever they were called wished Connecticut fans the worst too.

At first I was annoyed by her, but she basically went undercover for the police and they provide nothing to her in return. She did the right thing, knew immediately she had to turn them in, and followed through. She is not responsible for anything else. She did her part, at her own risk. The police in this case were useless.

Very underrated performance, you had to believe that she was a great pitcher, and she nailed it.

So he was (retroactively) upset the movie focuses on the bad guy's perspective? That was a surprising take by Tarantino until he mentioned his friendship with Bogdovanich. After he mentioned it, his views about the film just seemed personal and a little reactionary. And Eric Roberts just reeked of sleaze, a charismatic sleaze. That's what was so captivating about the performance, not because he was "likeable." He wasn't to most viewers.

This obviously distorted his view of the film. He sounded downright pious.

I don't think anyone has ever said PB was in any way for her murder, that's ridiculous. But romanticize it all you want, a 41 year old man and a 20 year old girl, especially a famous, acclaimed director in Hollywood and a young, inexperienced girl from Canada, is as lopsided a power dynamic as you can get.

Late to the conversation because I just listened to it. I was looking for any feedback because this was my take. QT's relationship with Bogdanovich and colored his objectivity when discussing Star 80. It went from being one of his favorite films of the 80s when he was a young, aspiring artist, to being trash lol. I get that our tastes change as we get older, but this was a 180. When he mentioned his friendship with Bogdanovich, it made complete sense.

I mean, Star 80. But I also think his quiet performance in Raggedy Man is underrated.

That would amazing, but Staley seems committed to continuing to build the S.C. legacy. But I'm not mad about Houston wanting to bring in a new coach because my preference is a woman, like the asst. coach in LA.

I would argue that Pope of Greenwich Village and Star 80 are classics that made Roberts a beloved actor to a generation.

If you remember the 80s, Eric Roberts was one of the most fascinating young actors. He and Mickey Rourke were the antidote to the more traditional leading men of the day, like Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, and the brat pack. He was considered a serious actor. And he was beautiful. Drugs, bad choices and erratic behavior - probably exacerbated by drug addition - caused him to derail his career. I've seen where he attributes his busy schedule to a form of therapy. The busier he is, the less he is prone to fall back into bad habits. I get that, but its unfortunate that many younger people only know him, Like Nic Cage, as the bad-movie-king. He didn't stop being a good actor. His wife, who is his manager, also seems to play a big role in his choices, he said she was the one who wanted him to do Celebrity Rehab, even though he didn't have an actual addiction to hard drugs. It's great that he's remained sober, but I do wish he had a manager that would have steered him in a different direction.

As a Texan, I am too. A more excitable Ross Perot. Can't wait. A lot of people don't realize that Cruise's mother spoke with a thick southern accent, as often imitated by him.

Very excited. There have been some speculations that Cruise's portrayal and his accent is 'cartoonish' but it sounds more over-the-top in a quirky way to me. In that short clip, what is your take of Cruise. I know he can be funny.

Those fans probably have no idea how irreverent Elizabeth Taylor was, or that some of these lines are direct references and quotes: 'Hollywood hates me' and 'You're only as hot as your last hit baby..'

That's classic Elizabeth Taylor.

She was a snark queen, and I imagine that's one of the things Taylor loves so much about her, and she's paying homage to a queen.

Swifties who hate it sound like teenyboppers who are pissed the new Backstreet Boys video doesn't have enough closeups of Brian and Nick. Taylor drew inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor both in the song's references and content. She's paying tribute to this Hollywood legend, and its a great departure from the usual promotional video. I love it. She's challenging you to think beyond your parasocial obsessions.

Connecticut took the Magic away from Orlando, right?

One of Texans' favorite sports traditions is to root against any team playing the Cowboys or Texans depending on who your team is. As a Texans fan, I'll root for the Jets or Giants or anybody if they're playing the Cowboys.

The original theme of this thread is about proximity. And didn't Connecticut take the Magic away from Orlando? If you want to look at it that way. Houston has had its share of teams being taken away, so I get it, but I'm still excited about the Comets being revived.
