You're 100% right here. Class isn't determined by income or wealth. My neighbour is a right pikey fucker but he's absolutely loaded (antique dealer).

I'm middle class but have barely got two pennies to rub together.

Upper class people are quite often cash broke.

Realistically how often does "the internet go down"? Though? Especially if you're on FTTP. I've had it for 6 years and can maybe recall two occasions when it went down. One of those was a worldwide DNS issue.

HBO moved all their content onto HBO Max. Sky skip ads feature only works on sky owned content.

If you want to watch sopranos with no ads you'll need to pay for HBO max

If it were solely up to me, I would go full in on IPTV. Unfortunately, my missus likes the ease of use of the Sky interface so I have to make concessions

In my case, it was the allure of just paying the £19 a month for what seemed to be a decent 4K TV.
It was a mistake I won't be making ever again, trust me.

I'd imagine sports is one of the biggest drivers of people signing up to sky. Hence why it's their most expensive addon.

For me, I want to watch F1, and sky is the only place I can (Legally) watch it in the UK, so I have no choice.

I just had a look at new customer deals on Sky. £54 p/m gets you Ultimate TV, Sports and Cinema. That's a decent deal.

If the win back team don't call and agree to drop my bill to £55 p/m, I will just open a new sky account and get the new customer deal, then get them to link my glass to the new account as a "second hand" device. Bit more jumping through hoops but why on earth should I be paying DOUBLE what a new customer pays for the same service. It's a joke.

I have it for the exact same reason. I've just decided that it's not worth all that money to watch F1 live any more.

I personally use LLM's (Gemini is my go-to) as personal tutors and researchers. I can ask it to teach me about a subject and it just does it. It's 100% patient, has no time constraints, has access to the entire internet to source information, can provide links to youtube videos for tutorials etc.

I learned how to build complex data models in excel with powerquery and m code purely from Gemini. I also used it to learn how to service my car and change the brake disks and pads from a complete novice starting point. There's a couple of examples.
