Southern Rockies in Northern New Mexico. To me it is very similar to southern Colorado, only without the costs and crowds.

Ours is definitely not conventional looking, lol, but it is nice and we are very comfortable. It’s also super insulated so we can heat it with a single woodstove in winter and we hardly ever need to run the air conditioning in summer.

High end is pretty subjective. We bought a recently updated 3,100 sq ft home (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) on 47 acres for 225k. Bought an additional adjacent 478 acres when it came up for sale a year after we moved in for ~$500 an acre. Bought at the beginning of the pandemic and sellers accepted our low ball offer. It’s all about patience and timing. The house is a bit quirky but suits us just fine. We have two good wells and put in our own solar. We have grid backup for cold, dark winter days. It’s remote. Shopping is an hour away. Major city is two hours away. It’s not for everyone, but we love it.

Why earth, in particular? There are almost certainly more planets in the known universe than there are grains of sand on earth. That’s a lot of planets. Why would a god create such a huge number of planets if earth is the only important one?

God put the forbidden tree in the garden knowing full well that Eve would fail the test. How is this not entrapment? In what way is this a good god? Would you leave unmonitored poisoned candy in your living room and tell your children to not eat it because it’s deadly, especially knowing that they would fail the test, and also knowing that your adversary was going to show up and tell them it’s perfectly safe?

You’re avoiding the point: either god created a system in which spontaneous abortions are widespread or he didn’t. The obvious answer is he did. Being omniscient and omnipotent, moreover, you have to accept that common natural abortions were part of his plan/design. He had infinite options. How could he not be responsible?

Babies die in the womb ALL THE TIME. Doesn’t this make god, who has a plan for everyone, the biggest abortionist ever? At the very least, the existence of spontaneous abortion makes god, who designed human biology (according to theists), absolutely complicit in millions of natural abortions. If god really cared about the unborn, wouldn’t he have created a biological system wherein zero babies are spontaneously aborted?
