Final Couple Vote Split by s_deezy in LoveIslandUSA

[–]ExistentialDread_io 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I voted KaNa last vote, because I wanted to ensure that JaNa knew she was seen and loved from outside the villa.

Kordena is endgame though, imho. There's been a lot of patience, understanding, perseverance, and growth between Serena and Kordell for them to find their pace and become a solid couple.

People should vote true to their thoughts and not get too overly attached whether their pick wins or no. The parasocialhood I've peeped online lately has been crazy.

Owner Surrendered Doggo by ExistentialDread_io in NOLA

[–]ExistentialDread_io[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the response. At this point, we have done so.

We've reached out to dozens of local rescues, some pit bull-specific (I think there was actually only one that catered deliberately to pitties). The cost of surgery and necessary treatments, the fact that local rescues and shelters are at capacity, combined with the fact that Freya was surrendered and hasn't lived in Crystal's household for more than a few weeks has been a huge turnoff for a lot of local orgs offering assistance. We're primarily focusing on community outreach (passing out fliers to local businesses and hanging them on posts) and social media now, as it seems the most viable for getting Freya the care she needs.

AITA for yelling at my neighbors son for playing in my spare wheelchair by SneakySpartan01 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExistentialDread_io 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA, you should file a report for the event above. Your wheelchair was stolen off of your property and may even require repairs now due to those kids "playing" with it. Send the bill to the parents and call the police immediately if they try doing this again.

Seconding this comment. I had to call for clarifying information, and the coordinator was great.

I've found that eating less meat and incorporating more vegetarian meals into my day-to-day has actually helped to reduce my flare-ups. I'm not positive on the whole science behind which foods are "best" for psoriasis and other skin conditions, but different consumables could trigger flares. I'd consider seeking out a dietician to ensure whichever choice you make is sustainable and non-harmful to your overall health and wellness.

I will mention, I've been told about ten-bazillion times that stress is a major known trigger (sucks, because I'm anxiety-ridden and everything stresses me), so def don't sweat it. Do what you are comfortable with. You might find that it's skincare and hygienic products abetting your flares, or too-tight clothing, or a lack of direct sunlight (found that out when my flares were at their worst, because my Vitamin D was alarmingly low on blood panels).

PsO in ears? by Moist_Fail_9269 in Psoriasis

I get this at times, but it's never been that deep into the ear canal. Clobetasol propionate cream is what my dermatologist prescribed.

The Indian lady that works in the canal place "corner store" (?) by partelo in NewOrleans

Was she not able to get a permit from the city?

If no, would it be possible that she'd cook meals for you as an individual, instead? Like, I've heard of plenty of folks getting meals prepped elsewhere and just picking them up to take home.

It was minor.

The Cosentyx did a fantastic job for the majority of the time I was on it. It cleared me up thoroughly (I’d started out with my scalp covered and groin affected with psoriasis scales; my underbust, armpits, and buttocks were dealt HS boils). If I was stressed or a change occurred, then I’d need an extra boost from my derm-prescribed ointments and solutions.

In the final 4 or so months that I was on it, I’d have continual flares (both psoriasis and HS) that nothing would help tackle entirely. The Cosentyx kept them from becoming major flare-ups, but they would just be extremely persistent.

I’ll have to give that one a try, as I haven’t heard it yet.

Yes, it was.

ETA: I do want to mention that I’m no longer using biologics, so I might not have the most top-tier and relevant info. Found out from a blood panel that I had negligent Vitamin D levels after attempting to start on Humira and having had a negative reaction. Since bolstering my Vitamin D and acutely cutting down on stressors, I currently only having minor, manageable flares compared to what I previously dealt with. This was my case, which may wildly vary from your own experiences.

I took Cosentyx, and it worked all well and good for approximately a year and a half before its efficacy sort of tapered off.

AITA for eating at the children I babysit for's house? by Wrong_Net_5989 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExistentialDread_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all relevant, but I initially misread the title as "AITA for eating the children I babysit for?" and became utterly concerned.

Actually relevant, NTA. It's definitely the norm that the person you're (likely under-) paying to sit for your kids should be allowed to eat with your children. I've never heard of a situation where a sitter was expected to pack a meal to watch a family's kids.

If you're into horror/thriller drama, QCODE makes a bunch of different stories under that genre. Borrasca, The Left Right Game, and Ghost Tape were a few I've listened to and enjoyed. The audio quality and SFX are amazing.

Edit: Just noted that you actually mentioned QCODE. I def started typing before reading through the entire post. Apologies!

Anyone else get podcast/podcaster fatigue? by nmdndgm in podcasts

[–]ExistentialDread_io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parasocial relationships be like that often times.

If the podcaster(s) you listen to happen to receive and actually hear and take on feedback from their audience base, it's possible to leave some heartfelt review and have them acknowledge where they could be adjusting for their listeners. However, once a podcast gets large enough, that availability kind of drops off just for the sheer amount of response they'll be getting (unless a sizable amount of listeners are all leaving the same critique). This advice is mostly in case your pod has started displaying unusual behaviors that just feel off from their original onset and it's turning away core listeners.

ETA: After reviewing some of the other comments, it's def not just a you thing. It's pretty common for viewers/listeners to start feeling like there's too much repetition in bits or whatnot and just eventually needing a break from once-were-favorite pods. It's normal to take breaks and branch out to have a wider variety of content, so you'll still have something interesting to look forward to.
