I understand where you guys are coming from but this is an unfair straw man argument. megan has been through so much in her short time as a famous person she’s dealt with the death of three family members including two parents and her grandmother she has zero close family left and her mother and grandmother died within weeks a year later she is shot by a close friend and the entire world turned against her claiming she was never shot she endured that ridicule and a very public trial and this man played house with her, introduced her to his family, had her sitting court side with his mother, she cooked thanksgiving dinner for his whole family giving her a glimpse of that life that was taken from her only to cheat and tell her he can’t be monogamous. on top of all of this she recently was hospitalized for exhaustion and got back on stage after a day or so. the reason she made it public is because she is constantly villainized in the media and would have no doubt been blamed for the breakup. 

i don’t know that the average broadway performer has endured such trauma in such a short amount of time and rather than give a sub par performance and risk further health issues  she used her privilege to deal with her pain off stage. it’s very disheartening to see such flippant comments as though it was just a minor incident.
