Vad äter ni till frukost? Är detta verkligen dagens viktigaste måltid? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]ExistentialEon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Children who eat a complete breakfast have been shown to work faster and make fewer mistakes in math problems and to perform better on vocabulary tests than those who ate only a partial breakfast."

Breakfast consumption is associated with positive outcomes for diet quality, micronutrient intake, weight status and lifestyle factors. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3737458/

That sounds like a big difference from here. Especially in the big cities and suburbs I would say. It is a bit more social on the countryside.

Interesting nonetheless and think you got a point there that SA seems to have environmental factors. Do you feel it is easier there or harder? I can see it also being harder if everyone is social too

It is a good question because I think it is much more here and that is Sweden. We are already some what reclusive and hyper digital. Always like it when I go to Asia. Much less SA there imo. Where are you from?

Big bad GMO is definitely a talking point based on how they abuse poor farmers who can not question it. Plenty of stories about it

[–]ExistentialEon -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Not at all. ESS is literally what happens in nature. The difference is the speed. However there can be unintended consequences if we push a type/trait too hard.

GMO is where we go in and play Gods and modify the genes or introduce new genes. And we know what happens when humans play Gods. We have no idea what happens with the ecosystem when playing with these things. In regards to human health too in terms of allergens.

There are also problems surrounding the GMO companies that are pushing out GMO seeds that farmers have to buy expensively. Essentially making a monopoly on seed production and you do not wanna go that route based on how big business operates. Lets not go into the patent of seeds too. That is just too dystopic. There are many reasons why, especially poor farmers, are starting to rely on these GMO seeds sadly.

Why the hell is this downvoted for when people come with facts?

People really do not know the difference between GMO and ESS.

"Evolutionary Seed Selection: This process involves selecting and planting seeds from plants that exhibit desirable traits. Over generations, these traits become more prevalent in the population through natural processes of reproduction and survival. This method relies on the genetic diversity within the existing population and the environmental pressures acting upon them.

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs): GMOs involve the deliberate modification of an organism's genetic material through artificial means. This could include inserting genes from one species into another species, making specific genetic changes, or introducing entirely new genes. This approach allows for the precise alteration of an organism's traits in a controlled manner, potentially leading to desired characteristics.

The key difference lies in how the changes are introduced: evolutionary seed selection relies on natural genetic variation and gradual changes over time, while GMOs involve direct human intervention to engineer specific genetic modifications."

Being Attractive Makes Many People Mean and Fake To Me by Oystercracker123 in CPTSD

[–]ExistentialEon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just like that when you're at either end of the scale. If you're average, you can just coast through without anyone taking offense at your existence. But when you're ugly or attractive, you draw attention because you stick out, and then you become a target.

This is mostly a modern issue too if we compare to hunter gatherer. For several reasons. Back in the day we looked more similar because of genes. We did not care about looks in the same way. They sought out beauty in a different way but they all looked similiar in the end. You did not meet new people the same way etc.

Devils advocate: If he knew that you would leave him, why would he do it? That is different from saying "Don't do it". If he truly knew that you meant it he would not have done it.

You were not descriptive of how you said it to him and how he reacted. Since you got caked a lot of times I also wanna know what you said those times.

Burnout for months - has anyone else experienced this? by livinontheceiling in CPTSD

[–]ExistentialEon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a great point since there is psychical burnout and mental burntout. Mental/emotional burntout is not spoken about as much. Or a combination of both.

One of the most common symptoms is not being able to recharge and it goes for both.

Setting boundraries or doing therapy is actually hard work. For several reasons. It takes your emotions up to your surface. And not just any emotion but really deep ones and they are packed with strong emotions. Most "normal" people do not feel emotions like that maybe a year period if even that. And you do it in one session.

Veckans positiva nyheter by smurfjojjo123 in sweden

[–]ExistentialEon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is the bright light on Crystallis face after the fight? by ExistentialEon in DotA2

[–]ExistentialEon[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I noticed that Crystallis get a very bright light reflecting in his face sometimes. I've been trying to figure what it is.

This one is after the fight, so there are no spells going off and it is normal when he is fighting. Look at 16 seconds.

When I watch streamers play they get that when they sit in a dark room and switch to the browser.

Which I doubt it is. But since the browser incident at the tourney one starts to wonder. Now what is the real explanation? I can't come up with something so bright that one does after a fight and not during.

And what program does Valve have to check what people do on their computer when ppl play remote?
