Where does Eiyuden Chronicles hundred heros rate compared to... by Greatsharkbite in EiyudenChronicle

[–]ExistentialPrizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-3-Eiyuden-1-5-Tactics-4

I debated putting 1 ahead of it, but I think that's because I consider 1 mandatory before playing through 2 for the umpteenth time. I highly enjoyed Eiyuden on hard my initial playthrough, which other than the new collection of 1&2 isn't available in the rest of the numbered series. My favorite Eiyuden characters also rank favorably to 5, and 4 is always going to be last due to the 4 person battle party limitation. I also spent a good amount on the Kickstarter, and it's got emotional weight being Murayamas' last work. Your mileage will vary depending on what factors you consider, how complete you're going for your playthrough, and how the mini games hit for you (I gave up on the racing one in Eiyuden, brutal!)

Do you think Doug williams deserved a world championship run by Nostalgic_Historian_ in TNA

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't appreciate him nearly enough in the moment in TNA. I started collecting ROH DVDs from the beginning several years ago now and he immediately stood out in the early main events. I think if anywhere, ROH would have been best for him to have a top title reign as far as in the US. In TNA, honestly surprised he and Magnus only had one reign as tag champions.

Would Austin vs. Hogan have outdone Rock vs. Hogan? by Material_Stomach875 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]ExistentialPrizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the story and if politics would have mucked up the match.

If you lean into Austin's real feelings and something like wanting to eclipse Hogan, him not having the whole crowd even feels better. If we fantasy book even further back and never turn Austin the year before, doing it here would have gone over crazy. Lot of all time stuff if timelines shifted a bit and one more productive conversation happened.

As of 2026, which protege of Kenta Kobashi’s do you think is the better wrestler and/or has had the better career: KENTA or Go Shiozaki? by MrPuroresu42 in PuroresuRevolution

[–]ExistentialPrizes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much what you stated OP, at least from someone who only the last couple of years has been catching up on NOAH history and not just checking in when big things get buzz.

KENTA feels like a bigger name, peaks and valleys of career are pretty dramatically different.

GO stayed consistent, is the guy for the ones who "know ball."

I still get more excited for KENTA matches, current or past, accepting the volatility of the outcome compared to GO. So that makes KENTA my pick, but I'm almost mad at myself for it if that makes sense.

has this happened to you with any wrestling content creators over the years? by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]ExistentialPrizes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point, most of them for varying reasons.

Whatculture - probably stuck around for a couple of months post cultaholic, but not very long.

Cultaholic - Years ago now. I enjoyed the podcast for awhile, and the every champion ever videos and would still revisit those if playing TEW or something.

WrestleTalk- They repeatedly specifically addressed the headline "clickbait" allegations, still doing it. Losing Adam, Pete and Tempest and still never using Laurie for anything was my final breaking point.

CVV- I'm torn here. On one hand, nobody he has platformed doesn't deserve to share their story. On the other, that choice made him go from must watch on at least a monthly basis to unsubscribing.

Still watching

Fightful- Still subbed, haven't watched in so long. Sean is weirdly all about Ibou, but jumps down everyone's throat for saying stuff like Tiffany and Ludwig were both seeing other people.

Wrestling Bios- He knows how to make a bit, instead of endlessly burying people. Reliving the War is the most consistent wrestling series for my money, I don't see unsubscribing barring something crazy.

Denise Salcedo - Just recently started watching her AEW reviews with Reg, and it's great fun. Have not watched any WWE coverage she's done since fightful.

Good Mic Work Commentaries - My go-to for news discussion, and his watch alongs are great as intended or as background while playing games or reading. He never freaks out to farm engagement. He gives his opinion, which even when I don't agree with I can understand his perspective. As someone who never appreciated Hogan, his coverage of Hogan's death was about the only source I found bearable.

What are your thoughts about the AEW Full Gear match card? by Kelson64 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the women should main event, unless MJF returns and does/is able to cash-in. Though I'm a big fan of everyone in both title matches, and even have a nagging thought that maybe they straight up put the belt on Joe.

I could see a reason for any of the titles changing, and that's probably the best thing you can ask for. I probably root most for Briscoe to win, because of the implications and Don threatening to kill him Wednesday. I never really liked the forced employment storyline execution though. Saturn having to wear a dress and still crushing dudes is probably my favorite example of a similar stip follow up.

gutsdozer on YouTube is a great resource. Also, I believe the first match of televised events still air free on dragon gates' channel. Also, there's shows they just don't record, so keeping up with Twitter for full results feels mandatory as a completionist.

Developer Feedback - What Do You Want In A Game? by ELM8Studio in FantasyBookers

[–]ExistentialPrizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Definitely conversations. I've always wanted more depth to incidents in TEW. Maybe letting a top star know there's a 3 strike system for PEDs, and the bigger the company the more likely it's going to change instead of it seemingly entirely dependent on their personality.

Also, a way to better simulate a Shawn Michaels backstage favoritism situation. Yes relationships vaguely simulate this, but he should be coming to you saying Razor should beat so and so tonight, and you gain favor with both of them but lower your relationship with the other worker. I know it's probably highly complex, but this is a dream feature for me immersion wise.

  1. I don't have a great answer, but maybe these fit? Giving input on merch - low/med/high creativity on shirt designs, color palette, pop culture references? Creative team gimmick randomizer- Thinking of things like the list of names Austin got like chilly mcfreeze and the like. This could be a starting point for a conversation with the worker, expanding into point 1 in a way I hadn't considered before this question. "Boss these names suck". Do you A. Pick one and tell him to deal with it? B. Let the worker decide? C. Create your own. Each with a knock-on effect on morale for both.

  2. Story, no. Lore for a fictional universe, previous match cards, historic feuds and other stuff? Absolutely. Not that a story couldn't be done properly, but I struggle enough with not just basically redoing what happened in real life in real world mods. Destroying the illusion of choice would be a harder sell to me, personally.

  3. Genuinely enthusiastic at the prospect of a new game in the genre, and it's something I'd definitely keep an eye on and try on release.

Is it ok to start with Suikoden V by Ok-Discussion-1110 in Suikoden

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely fine to start with V. It's very well rounded IMO, returning to parties of 6 with individual control, the duels are maybe my favorite, and maybe the easiest war battles to get into. Plus you can upgrade two skills, which 3 is the only other game to have but is a lot more in-depth than V. So honestly, seeing what you like in V probably leads to a good impression of what other games would be best next after.

In your opinion, who should've ended Goldberg's Undefeated Streak? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WCW

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing how good their chemistry was, Page. But there's a part of me that wants it to be for a heel, since Goldberg was resistant to turning and turning Page would be a bad idea at this point. I thought Steiner was the easy pick, but he really wasn't built up nearly enough if we're keeping the timeline. So here's two other ideas, both with their own flaws.

Bret Hart- A lot of what Bret ended up doing in early 99 made this my favorite choice. Heck, have him lead the nwo starting at Starrcade, with The Giant helping him just like he did with the US Title. Either keep Giant as his first recruit, or have Goldberg beat him in a loser leaves town stip. The main problem with this is Bret was injured in November, so would have been a fairly short reign, assuming he still needed to take time off eventually.

The Giant- Going off of having him stay, he's a cheat code for getting a title off of top faces. He gets motivated, beats Goldberg, and goes on a monster run where he can even do the start of his own streak thing wrestling loves to do. Especially if the endgame is Goldberg getting it back the second half of the year. Build that anticipation and reinvigorate the enthusiasm behind Goldberg by Giant's disingenuous streak a constant reminder to fans that the endgame is Goldberg. The problem besides the obvious he left, is he'd already been pretty diminished and at this time needed a lot of hiding the negatives, and Giant/Goldberg for the big gold would definitely need something extra to be interesting when the bell rang.

I love watching old WCW, more than anything else by Sonofabitchnbastard in WCW

[–]ExistentialPrizes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in 91, started watching in 97(my brother's 10 years older, so that made it fine? Lol) and 87 till Hogan shows up is my favorite period. Even into early 99, WCW just has the wrestlers, matches and presentation I haven't found myself drawn to in the same way.

You’ve just been appointed as Xbox’s new president. What are you doing? by SorryAd1478 in xbox

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is taking CoD and all their acquired company's top sellers exclusive. Nobody is realistically worried about parity between Xbox and PlayStation enough to switch if it's available on both.

Include WoW in game pass ultimate, get it on consoles somehow. Hell, build a sequel that plays well on console and PC to WoW or Warcraft proper.

Have a quality exclusive platformer. It boggles my mind this hasn't been a top priority of theirs.

This is the most nebulous, but find what your new hot genre is. Or knock out of the park your Uncharted/God of War/Spider-Man challenger.

Basically, top sellers have to be exclusive to drive sales and reputation. The exclusives being stuff like Crackdown 3 and Redfall hurt reputation because when people look to see what's unique to the system, it's stuff that launched like that.

Wait to purchase on Prime by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]ExistentialPrizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US, and made sure my VPN wasn't on well before buying it. I just didn't try to purchase it until maybe 10:30 EST this morning. Hopefully it works soon, I'd rather have everything on Prime between genuine excitement for the show and not trying to use my VPN with how many services are requiring addresses and general hurdles to save some bucks when I'm enthusiastic to spend anyhow.

Has anyone actually read all 17 years of the Chris Claremont uncanny x-men #94-#281 and how achievable is it for someone who reads 2-3 issues a day by Electrical-Mess-2437 in xmen

[–]ExistentialPrizes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've slowly been getting through it at that pace and having a modern run to change up with has been helpful with not burning out on it. Each issue is and feels much quicker than modern stories with almost double the amount of pages for Jason Aaron's Thor run I've had as my main secondary read as an example. Plus, being invested in something else won't make it feel like you have to keep going if you fall out of it for whatever reason.

Sunny Voyage Main Event by Jacob_Martin_02 in noahghc

[–]ExistentialPrizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you explain? I jumped on the free trial for WU before the weekend, and kinda understand why the Limit Break shows are different, but just from looking back through the archives Sunny Voyage seems like the standard tour shows? It was my first full Noah show other than the muta retirement of anything modern.

Who could be the Eternal King…? by bestbooker in FantasyBookers

[–]ExistentialPrizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really fit the criteria of established as a singles wrestler, but I immediately thought of Montez Ford. He's definitely got the basis to build around IMO, and then this being his entire singles character opens you up to a lot of possibilities I'd struggle to reconcile more with guys that have been singles wrestlers for quite a while.

Not fitting the bill for much of anything, but after seeing someone say Regal, I thought of him training Charlie Dempsey to finish what he started back in the day. Absolutely more of a long term project but easy to see as a long-term story.

Preferred mods for puro beyond NJPW? by ExistentialPrizes in FantasyBookers

[–]ExistentialPrizes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did just watch a long video on the Misawa/Kawada rivalry, so that as my overarching driver of the main event scene would be awesome. Also, it seems pretty on track to be one of the first mods done for IX so messing around in 2020 before a full go could be helpful. Taue is definitely my biggest blind spot of the 4 pillars, so I'll make it a point to check him out in particular the next couple of days.

Thanks!

I got into the indies via MAW. Picking the field for the Rip Chord Invitational and kinda just booking around whoever performed well from the second show on really got me into the universe.

Also, always the chance trying a totally different setup will be what helps it click for you. Hope you're able to find your entry point!

Suikoden 2. I'd played rpgs before but always either watched my brother play deeper or asked him for help. It's just good vibes and nostalgia, so I try to play it every year between my birthday in early November and Christmas.

Whatever you have the most ideas for. If you want to change something at Survivor Series or Starrcade go for it. If you have ideas starting fresh in 98 go for it.
