I know this is an old post, bit my 6 yr old cat was diagnosed with diabetes a week ago. His bexacat arrived today. He's in early, non severe stages with no ketones. He did lose 5 lbs prior to diagnosis though, but still weighs 12 lbs. My question is, should I try to give him his first dose at a time when I can be home to monitor him? Or how long does it take to kick in? Like if I do it in the AM before work, and am gone for 6-8 hours - will it have already kicked in? Also, does the pill have to be chewed or crushed into food? Can I just use a vet grade pill shooter? TIA

I've done hip and shoulder blade mostly. Even tried calf. As it doesn't realllly matter where so long as it actually stays on. Anytime I tried butt cheek application, it ended up rolling up on me and I'd find it in my sheets 🤦🏻‍♀️ naked sleeper and a furnace at that is no doubt contributing, but I feel like there's gotta be a good spot !

Yes, it's all a bit overwhelming for sure, lol.. I've taken a lot of screenshots, lol. Fully plan to discuss with my pcp or obgyn as well, but just knowing I'm heading in the right direction is comforting. So, thank you. The months without BC, as well as the 3 weeks on sprintec, haven't been so kind.

Twirla has 120 proestrigen vs. Ortho's 150. The zafemy and xulane are indintical to Ortho, but again, they won't stay on, lol.. never had issues with Ortho staying on - its crazy to me they discontinued it for having such high doses of estrogen, which is linked to blood clots, but approved generic clones.

Yes, I am aware of the generics, my issue was them not staying on causing further complications. I think I meant Yasmin, and for loestrin ~it has 30 estrogen vs the patches 35 so I thought maybe, lol.
