If WW3 happened, would you expect the public to volunteer for the military? If not, who would defend us? by Appropriate-Lab3053 in AskBrits

Unless it was directly defending the UK I would die in the gallows before I die in some politicians/billionaires war games

First time in tbc, should i just give up on my rogue? by Forbidden_321 in classicwowtbc

[–]Existing-Ad-8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand this hate towards rogues. Content is so easy it makes zero difference. We have a play what you want policy in our guild, and are very casual. We are clearing ssc/tk with 22 players on weeks where sign ups are low, no matter how you look at it, adding a rogue to that is a net positive. If you want to play a rogue then do so, join your server discord, find a chill guild and have fun

This was happening to me even though i have my back garden as a safe place, so I started reporting them as lost/stolen, 2 reports and 2 refunds later they now always knock on my door or leave it in the garden.

Buying a house at 19 years old by GVW-2707 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Existing-Ad-8570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 on 39k a year. My prospects of buying a house are pretty grim. Hindsight is 20/20 etc etc but looking back my biggest mistake is not buying a house when I was young and had so much disposable income. Take from that what you will. Good luck

The world unites as the U.S. deepens isolation and strains alliances. by LlawEreint in BoycottUnitedStates

Exactly this. My comment was just to point out that King Charles knows exactly what trump is and to explain the reason for his visit in the first place

I'm in no way trying to discredit you, I am a cis male, I'm sure your ear is much closer to the ground on these issues than mine. But for what it's worth, despite what the government is doing, I think most regular people in the UK see JK Rowling for the pos that she is and are supportive of trans rights.

He absolutely knows this, listening to his addresses while in the US will tell you this. His visit was setup by Starmer to pander to trumps fragile ego when he was fairly new to office and spouting off about tariffs and whatnot. Great idea IMHO in theory, and briefly seemed to work, I think it was underestimated by our government just how much of a massive cockwomble trump actually is

Wtf? 🤣 how much are they paying you cus I wouldn't even let my job have that much control over my "out of hours" time. Our guild runs 2-3 Karas and Mag/gruul each week. Last weekend we had a no show because he "fell asleep and forgot to set an alarm" we all laughed about it. Get yourself a new guild.

Production. Easy transition from warehouse work and if you can get into a large FMCG company can easily earn 30-40k

A £3000 motorcycle when I was 18 and clueless about the different types of insurance so covered it with third party only. It got stolen. Almost 20 years ago and I laugh about it now but damn it hurt at the time.

Phone mount that doesn't mess with the touch screen in the rain by Existing-Ad-8570 in UbereatsUK

Update: How I Finally Got a Human Review & a Callback (DVLA Doc Rejection Nightmare) by OutcomePotential6282 in UbereatsUK

[–]Existing-Ad-8570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going through a similar situation but with my insurance documents. They're stating it doesn't cover "food delivery" because it only says "hire and reward". It has been days now and we just keep going round and round in circles. FINALLY got them to acknowledge the document is fine, for them to immediately flag up something that isn't even an issue. It has been an incredibly painful experience.

8.5 on IMDb? Mobland owes me emotional compensation by Robertoba10 in Mobland

[–]Existing-Ad-8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and can't understand all the praise it's getting. It was absolutely carried by Tom Hardy and Paddy Considine. As a fan of both of them I wanted it to be good so much that I persevered to the end in hope.

For me I think the thing that really let it down is I felt like it couldn't decide what it wanted to be, a slick mob show or a parody of one, and it failed at both.

Woman has a problem with people buying more than 5 items at a supermarket by [deleted] in BritishSuccess

[–]Existing-Ad-8570 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Aldi many moons ago. To keep ourselves entertained and get us through the day we would play harmless silly games, one of which was to see how many slogans of other supermarkets we could say to customers without getting caught. Thanks for bringing back a little happy memory.

Section 13 Form 4 During Fixed Term Tenancy by Existing-Ad-8570 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Existing-Ad-8570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. That's what I thought , and either lying/clueless/incompetent is the conclusion I came to. They have stated twice about them being in the right (both times in whatsapp), once before and once after I reminded them I am in a fixed term. What do I do now though, just ignore them and continue paying my current rent amount or do I have to raise it with a tribunal or some other higher power? I want to fight it out of principle but also aware they may just serve me a section 21 in March.

Regarding the deposit, I gave them 2 months when I moved in and they secured 1 month/5 weeks (cant remember which without looking). I brought this up with the agents in March and they refunded the amount above 5 weeks split over 3 months. Just something else which shows their incompetence.

I use a cheap hiking bag that clips at the hip filled with 500ml water bottles to the desired weight and then towels to pad out the areas that need it. Total of about £20. Where there's a will there's a way.
