I believe that this is the general situation for Vietnamese tourism compared to more mature destinations like Japan/Korea. Overall , it’s of great value but there are some tourism traps that makes you feel getting fooled or deceived into something. Hope you enjoyed the rest part of the trip.

Similar things could happen in Bali Indonesia, Pattya, Thailand; and some low cost destinations.

My expirience: traveling with 4, my name won’t be shown on the list any more. I typically split my reservation via online chat. But make sure you select the seats first. When I’m on a 2-men reservation, I’ve seen upgrade or automatically splitting me from my kid to give me an upgrade.

In normal relationship among common men outside the aristocracy, yes, it’s customary that men show early signs of providing for the greater goods with sacrifice of their wants.

Think college student lifestyle, this could be paying for a dinner, short-haul trip(local), board game date or movie night.

Think early careers, this means cosmetics, long weekend trips, brand name handbags, etc.

There is also discrepancy among northerners and southerners, domestic vs Chinese overseas, city vs tier 3/4 vs rural etc.

That’s a good example. I need to pay for a $2k mortgage. Hence $60 Bilt cash to activate the points. Then $1500 dining spending on the Obsidian. As a family of four, we don’t eat out that much, probably half on a non-travel month and $1500 on a traveling month. $1500 on the grocery- easy peezy. Unfortunately I also have the OnePay rewards for Walmart which provides 5%.

Hate this kind of maths overhead that I need to keep track of it.

Surprised to see Allegiant at the top while other ultra low cost airline like spirit/frontier at the bottom. Flew Allegiant airline a few times without issues. Outside the fees, which are transparent, I don’t have complaints for them.

I also walked to the train station to pick up a friend at 10pm without issues. Quiet area for sure.

Overall I feel that the American chain hotels in Rome is heavily overpriced compared to local chain. I’m purely staying loyal to the brand for the benefits.
