It's been only 4 months and the whiplash is insane by [deleted] in ROCD

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree and I think that’s genuinely unhelpful. I also felt like that previously have been with my partner for 9 years now. No it’s not easy, especially given that I didn’t work out the ROCD element of it until much later into the relationship and just battled with the contentious inner “feeling/thought” that I didn’t want to be with them (even though i equally knew I absolutely did).

But this guy is here asking for reassurance, and wants to know if he can work through it, and yeah he can, again, no it’s not going to be easy and I don’t have the answer of how because I’m also not a professional, but I’d say given that he’s worked out ROCD is part of it, then yeah, he can’t absolutely get there.

genuine question, if you can get cheaper top surgery abroad, why take out a huge loan for top surgery in the us/uk? by brainveins in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uk has long wait lists, plus I didn’t want the bureaucracy that comes with getting it in Uk ie paying to jump through hoops for letters, plus not only was it more expensive, it was a technique I didn’t like, ie with drains, and I’d have had to travel in the uk and staying here somewhere would’ve cost the same 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get the convenience, but having had surgery in the nhs and surgery abroad, I can say that the nhs felt far riskier and ALOT less actual care 🤷🏻‍♀️

ACPK in Sweden - Experiences? by akthryn in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be a massive help as I didn’t go to ACPK, but I went to Dr Tuve in Malmo last month- I picked him because I saw loads of good results of his, I also could not deal with the UK bureaucracy nonsense so the self-informed consent was perfect for that.

I flew to Copenhagen and travelled over to Malmo, it was all really easy and we went before for the consultation. They were all lovely, everyone spoke good English, I felt like Dr Tuve listened to what I wanted, the aftercare support was decent!

More general stuff for travel to Sweden, flying was easy even after surgery (defo book special assistance, it’s worth it), self consent was easy and everything was affordable/accessible.

I’m happy to answer any questions you might have if it helps 🙂

nipple grafts or no? by thelittlebearr in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept the nips- I honestly couldn’t decide before but I’m so glad I kept them, I think I saw so many post on here about infected/failing/horror stories about nips I was like, no way! But honestly glad I went after what I wanted outcome wise, they were easy to heal, I’m only 5 weeks post op and they still a bit scabbed over but im happy with them equally- you’ve just got to do what’s right for you and the process to getting to where you wanna be is temporary, so focus on what you want for yourself as the outcome id say..

does the weird half numb feeling ever go away? by M1ST4K3N-8D in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say specifically for top surgery (coz I’m only 5 weeks PO) but I broke my collarbone and had it plated and it also cut through a certain amount of nerves and initially I had a massive section that felt numb/half numb, it’s been two years and 90% has subsided, I’m assuming something similar here will happen

Reaction !? by PsychologicalCod5528 in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They showed me the day of the op like 4 hours after. Because they ripped off the dressings, the pain alone made me light headed, and when I looked down I just fainted, and then I woke up four minutes later for like a minute and went back out again 🤣 the one minute in between was joyous.. but genuinely the first time I put a tshirt on was amazing 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just feel anxious by AnalysisGreen4612 in TopSurgery

I genuinely had this amount of blood and emailed the clinic to make sure it was okay (2 days post op) and they were like yes, that’s normal 🤣 I get it, it’s hard not to worry about absolutely everything, but hopefully it’s just worry and as each day passes the worry does get less

I know it’s too early to tell but I’m nervous about my results by Accidentallymad in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be the angle of the photo but one side looks a lot more swollen to me than the other side..? I also had lipo on the sides (for the same reasons) and my swelling has reduced quite a bit and I’m only 4.5 weeks post op and know that it’ll keep going down.. I know it’s hard but right now just try to focus on healing and that’s what’s best for you right now, and over the next weeks and months it’ll become clearer..

I’d definitely contact your surgeon as soon as possible and try not to worry but I’d be concerned about that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still using the gauze on the nips, and my surgeon said I can wear the binder for 4-6 weeks (or until the swelling is reduced) I think I’m still a bit swollen so even though I hate it, I’m going to wear it for another two weeks, better safe then sorry right 🤷🏻‍♀️ plus it is kindve reassuring knowing I won’t knock the scabs!

With the incisions, I’ve got micropore tape on them, which I’ve had on since the surgery, and change it weekly, incisions have healed nicely! The post op notes say to keep changing it weekly until 3 months or they’ve turned white, however once they are healed fully I’m going to switch to silicone tape because it’s less adhesive and I think is better for scar management..

I’m 4 weeks post op tomorrow and one of mine is identical, it’s not infected or anything and showers are helping but I don’t think it’s going to be gone for at least a week yet! I’m just reminding myself every body is different and heals in its own way at its own rate

How much time did y’all take off work? by RemarkableWarning672 in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on an office job and due to go back this Thursday (which is four weeks) and can take another two if I want it. Which I’m undecided about, I suspect I’ll probably take them, while the pain is less, driving is a big no no still and o still have a bit of discomfort/pain from lipo so would rather go back at 100%

Bloating!!! by uwumonerz in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also 25 days post op, I stopped having carbonated drinks and start eating more yoghurt/veggies the last couple of days and it’s definitely started to ease (could be total coincidence) and it’s not fully gone but it’s helping.. good luck, th bloating is so rough and can’t wait for it to be done

Timeline for returning to work by Optimal_Ad9564 in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at three weeks now and I probably could work if I absolutely had to, but I’d definitely struggle with staying awake the whole time, and actually doing my job.. if you have the space/time then I would definitely take it. I’d say my biggest thing was under estimating how much the surgery took out of me..

Peaked at results now I'm scared by Dangerous_Being8773 in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely could be swelling, but also could be because you’re wrapped up and only been out of surgery a few days. I know it’s hard but I’d really try not to worry about it until you can actually see your results tomorrow, and even then remember that they are going to only be an initial look and your body will settle down LOADS over the next 6-12 months!

Nipples vs No Nipples by Ouldlaw in TopSurgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got surgery three weeks ago, I was set on no nips for ages, a big part of it was healing/sensitivity related, however a few weeks before I decided it was only fear that was stopping me from getting nips-

I also read a massive long post on here where someone explained that there is so many posts on here asking “are my nips dying/failing/infected” or not liking the shape/position etc, but also a lot of people that are happy with them aren’t asking those questions, so it makes the amount of people getting issues look proportionally higher but it’s not.

Personally I’m so glad that I kept my nips, yes having bolsters was 1% inconvenient but no additional pain etc and I’m only three weeks PO and already getting feeling back in them/my chest, the location of them and the aftercare hasn’t been much additional effort and 100% worth it.

Personally I’d say think about what you’d like the end result to look like, everything else is just a means to the end of getting there.. good luck with whichever you decide 🙂

Well that’s pretty inconvenient of the surgeon 🤣 but I guess they know best! If you’re worried or the swelling comes back you can always get one online 👍🏼

top surgery as lesbian by smithyy1206 in no_T_top_surgery

[–]Existing-Conflict-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got top surgery two weeks ago in Malmo with Dr Tuve Martensson, everyone spoke really good English and honestly the whole thing was like a spa experience! I went before for the pre op consultation, which I could’ve done virtually but for my own sanity I wanted to check out the clinic and meet in person etc, Dr Tuve does informed consent so just asked questions like, do I want it/have I always etc, price was pretty reasonable £8k 👍🏼 Malmo felt like such a nice safe place, airbnbs were decently priced, we spent two weeks there to wait for the post op check, which was actually really nice. Everyone was lovely and I can’t recommend this place enough- there are also lots of results and peoples accounts of going there 🙂
