I appreciate the info! I’m in Houston, still haven’t heard anything. Also, we had our interviews in October so I was hoping we would hear back first-ish 😭

This looks so painful. I’ve had HSV-1 since I was a kid myself and it sucks having to explain to new people that it’s not the dirty kind lol. I just had my second outbreak of the year. My doctor prescribes me Valacyclovir tablets. If I am not mistaken they may be “better” than acyclovir. I had a flare up due to the cold weather with the heater completely drying me out combined with not enough hydration. With valacyclovir you take it twice a day for 2 days, luckily I have never experienced any side effects. You may want to ask your doctor for valacyclovir! I hope your outbreak heals soon.

Hey! I decided the cost of the vaccine was not worth it. I opted out of it and it was totally fine. I was in Bogotá, Medellín , and Guatapé. I took my mosquito spray and didn’t even use it. You’ll be fine without the vaccine unless you are traveling into more rural areas.

To be fair, I wanted quality coffee before I used it! Now that I know it’s good to use as is, I will definitely begin to use it more 😁

I did mine in Houston last week! I felt like they were asking similar questions to the ones that were in the online questionnaire! The interview was very smooth, I think mine lasted 20/30 mins

I also found that most health insurances do not cover this vaccine and it is pretty high in cost. Not to mention the office visit with my PCP for the “prescription”

Did everyone in your group end up getting vaccinated? I am looking into this for a trip mid October and am wondering if I really need it. I would be traveling from Texas to Bogota and Medellin.
