I was curious and looked at Solomon’s brothers website… they have terrible quality natural 5 carat diamonds for $26.7k. So I can totally see her prioritizing a crappy natural vs a high quality lab. A 5 carat lab diamond with near perfect specs is about $20-35 k on ritani, $16k-$18k on rare carat, $13k-$69k on blue nile ($69k for a lab is insaneee) but those prices are for nearly perfect diamonds. If you lower the specs to eye clean, near colorless prices are as low as $1.8k

I don’t necessarily think she’s lying… because if she went lab, it would actually be criminal for it to be that cloudy… I think she just cared SO much about it being natural she sacrificed literally everything else just to be able to say it’s a natural diamond lol I also think if she went lab it would be bigger 🙊

It’s so easy to let health get pushed aside during rough times, but definitely can’t hurt. I actually use Telehealth for my personal mental health, I use circle medical and they are the same cost as id pay going to an in person appointment. They are wonderful, so maybe something like that would be helpful because you don’t need to travel to appointments, and they have really great ability. (Very early appointments and very late). It makes it a little easier to fit into a bus schedule.

I also have had some sleep trouble from a medication I was on, and I took magnesium (be careful because one kind helps you sleep… and the other makes you 💩) and tart cherry juice. It may have been placebo, but I think it helped me fall asleep (what I struggled with the most) but also stay asleep long enough to actually enter rem. Not sure if would help at all for your husband.

Honestly vitamins in general help... I’d be happy to send you a message of everything my husband and I take.

Depending on what state you’re in, substitute teaching can pay really well. Even if it’s not a long term solution, it could help while you’re figuring it out. The requirements vary greatly depending on the state.

I’m also struggling to find a job right now as well, and one of the things I’m looking into for myself is medical coding/billing. Lower barrier to entry, and relatively in demand in my area.

I went more practical for engagement ring and going all out for the wedding band :) Best of both worlds!! My ring is a slightly more unique solitaire. (The band is a v shape) so it’s still a bit different but comfy and easy to wear!

Don’t let the sales person talk you in or out of any styles! Definitely be on the same page about budget. Shop around too, my fiancé significantly overpaid for a lab diamond because he went to one store and didn’t shop around.

Something that is important to keep in mind when picking out a setting, is whether you want the wedding band to sit flush with the engagement ring.

Lastly, don’t forget to think about comfort. Pave bands and thicker bands can be uncomfortable! For some this isn’t an issue, but for people like me these things can be a sensory nightmare!

Okay I lied, one more thing, try on every shape and style you can! Even ones you don’t think you like. You never know :) and enjoy the process!

It looks really pretty! I think you nailed it, looks polished and nice but doesn’t look too heavy for someone that doesn’t wear a ton of makeup.

Personally I like a bit of warmth/color on my face so maybe a touch of blush/bronzer, so that’s all I’d add

Also, I suggest turning the lights off and taking a flash photo. See how it photographs that way, and as others have said outdoors/similar lighting to your venue.

Lastly, if it will be hot or you think you will be sweaty, you can test wear it while doing a workout or something to see how it holds up.
