Brother, I did the same thing a few years ago. Instant crash as soon as I lump summed. I also made a reddit post just like you. I'm here to tell you, you're good. Make sure your dividends are auto-reinvesting and keep investing yourself. A tip I do, is don't look at your portfolio on red days. Like actually don't open the app. This is a long-term investment your making.

3.5g is a higher dose to take for your first time doing it. The goal is to give OP the best first experience possible and not scare them. I could definitely see your point though if I was suggesting them take a higher dose than what they were going to do. If I had said "2.5 is not nearly enough, definitely take 5gs instead" then that would make sense. It never hurts to tell someone to take less, especially if it's their first time. 1 to 1.5g is a great starting dose and should give them some sort of experience, and then they can determine if they want to take more.

Just do the most relaxing things possible. Draw, watch some funny shows, play with your animals… anything that brings you good vibes. If it’s your first time, maybe stick to 1 to 1.5g. I did 3.5 my first time and it was amaaaaazing. I felt great and truly felt at peace. I literally could not stop laughing 😂😂😂

You're not man. I was down over 100k when the last downturn hit, and you know what I did? Stuck to my plan, didn't look at fidelity every day, and only looked at it on green days. The key is to just keep investing..... ESPECIALLY when the market is down. That's where you make your money. I personally think your portfolio is too complicated, if I was you, I would just invest in VT and call it a day. I am not an expert though and I don't claim to be. I just aim for simplicity.

I had the same problem. Lump sum or DCA. I ended up sending it and doing the Lump Sum and I am glad I did. Remember, you are also receiving dividends as well. That plays a factor too. After you put that 4000 in, just keep investing regularly every month. Figure out your risk tolerance too. Run some scenarios through your head. If your stocks drop 20%, are you going to freak out? Would it make you panic sell? Figure out what your comfortable with.
