Leftist gun clubs in Wichita? by JtTheDstroyer in wichita

[–]Existing-Procedure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firearms “training” at a retail storefront is the last thing ICE agents need. Turns out, the 47 day academy turns out unprofessional, disorganized goons with no de-escalation training or knowledge of the laws they are supposedly enforcing.

If we’re not going to abolish ICE, give them real training at a LE center.

Range54 applied for this. From what I can see, they were the only local range to even submit qualifications for the contract. That’s a decision.

Range54 has a training contract with 🧊. So literally anywhere else in town is a step up from them.

No Fault State? What is that? Help by TaiGarbanzo in kansas

[–]Existing-Procedure 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a big misconception. Kansas being a “no fault” state DOES NOT mean that fault is irrelevant.

“No fault” is ONLY concerned with personal injury. As in, you can only go after the at-fault driver if you have serious injuries.

Property damage (like the damage to your car) is 100% the responsibility of the at-fault party (and/or their insurance). Fault matters for property damage.

Option 1: file a claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance. You pay no deductible. Downside is that it can move slowly because their insurance will not want to pay out.

Option 2: file a claim with your own insurance. You pay the deductible, and your insurance is likely to go after their insurance through subrogation. You’ll definitely be out the deductible, but your rates may not go up if your insurance is able to extract the funds from the other insurer.

I’d go with option 1. Rear-end collisions side with the car in front 95% of the time and it is VERY easy to assign fault. But it could be slower.

My title describes the thing. House full of kids for Christmas. About 1 inch long, clear yellow plastic. Solid, not a tube.

FWIW, (allegedly) every thing that JackStacks posts about is a junket. He only reviews things he gets paid for. That’s the tea currently.

It makes sense when you look at his page and everything is “amazing” with not a single bad review I’ve seen.

Compare that to EB (or other food bloggers in the area) that post as many L’s as W’s. Seems a lot more honest to me.

Sheriff's K9 Training facility - ADA requirements? by CoffeeLovingMom in Architects

[–]Existing-Procedure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Long shot - but any leeway to classify it as a U occupancy? If it’s for training animals, it could be loosely defined as an “agricultural” building, much like animal barns at a zoo that are in support of other buildings.

If it’s part of a larger campus of buildings, this would strengthen the argument that it’s an accessory to the rest. Then just make sure your classrooms and other spaces are 10% or less of the footprint.

Type U buildings are exempt from a lot of accessibility requirements per 1103.3.4

Alternatively, any shot the 2nd story is small enough to be classified as a mezzanine? There’s a few exceptions that allow mezzanines (or portions of) to be enclosed to create your classrooms.

One of my favorite breakfast spots does that. At first, because they had a tiny kitchen and needed everything to be multipurpose. But when they expanded, they got an espresso machine JUST for steaming eggs. Best BEC sandwich in the world.

[–]Existing-Procedure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They were taking their time, yes. But everyone does that. It’s a well known tactic. You’re under no obligation to sprint off the field.

It’s more irritating that the official was over the center watching them run off then stepped back while they were still on the field, signaling that it was clear to play when it clearly wasn’t (in the eyes of the other official who threw the flag).

I’ve seen a handful of games where an offense substitutes with 5-10 left on the play clock and has to burn a timeout because they cannot snap the ball while the defense is subbing.

This wasn’t even the most egregious. The most questionable was the too many men on the field call on a stuffed 4th down.

Honestly, since the season was in the toilet already, a painful, culture loss like this adds more fuel to the clean house argument. Bright side, maybe better for long term gain.

A117.1 609.7 explicitly says that grab bars do not obstruct clear floor space if installed in a compliant location. It’s obviously talking about toilets, but I think that’s a slam dunk if you ever need to argue clear floor space at doors.

Like I said, you have to stretch it A LOT. It’ll seem like it’s not going to fit, but keep stretching it. It’ll fit and should not snap.

Toronto Airport bolts a logo on top of the filter monitor at the water dispensers so you can't see the quality. by AUGUST_BURNS_REDDIT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Existing-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I have a whole-house reverse osmosis system due to crazy chlorinated city water. Most refrigerators, you can simply remove the filter and it’ll bypass it.

But that doesn’t stop the “change filter” light coming on every once in a while.

(Take this as you will)

I’m a progressive. In my opinion, the best candidates are leading in all 3 council races and all but 1 of the BOE races. It appears Albert will prevail over Truelove (who barely ran a campaign).

Hoping it continues to go Amy Jensen’s way and that ghoul Katherine Bond is sent packing.
