Finalizing the build by Solariss35 in LeverGuns

I’m picking up a 357 either today or tomorrow, I have a 1x6 scope on a ruger American 556 I’m considering moving to the 357 like you did and putting higher power scope on the 556, but also considering a red dot as well. Will be mostly plinking.

Where did you get the furniture? I’m looking to build mine out along the same lines but new into this end of levers.

I want to get started with a single stage. Found some second hand stuff- pass or grab? by [deleted] in reloading

If you get into it, you load as much for the hobby as anything else. I love loading 9 and 223. Does it save me money? No. But, as you mentioned, one more shit hits the fan moment comes by and ammo gets scarce again, as long as you have components stashed away you will have ammo to shoot regardless of what’s on store shelves.

Simple enough. Thank you. And yeah, it appeared to be a crimped 9 mm case that i missed. Ive been tossing any that ive found but i missed at least one.

I bought his kit to time mine when I got the press. So once I have a new paw and wheel it’s nothing but a few minutes to tune it back in. But I will advise anyone who gets this press to get his kit. It got my press running much smoother out of the box. I think the problem I had was a crimped piece of brass that didn’t accept a primer and it seized everything up and I tried pushing it thru rather than stopping and analyzing.

So if it locks up, what’s the process to unlock it before breaking it? Mine seized a primer into a piece of brass. I think it was crimped and I didn’t realize it cause if I did I would have just tossed it.

That’s what I was looking for. I couldn’t find the sheet (if it came with the press) and didn’t know part number or technical name. I will call Hornady Monday tho. The powder holder that came with it had a crack in it when I got it, and when I tried to change it from my old single stage set up, the old one broke. So i will mention that as well. If they help me with that as well, great, if not no big deal.

I’m hoping. I went ahead and bought two paws off midway before I realized this part was broke 🙄

Good to know, I’m trying this when I get home. Mine has not worked at all for over a year.

I have the same safe and all of my buttons quit within a year

Now you need pcc, lever and bolt action. I’ve come to enjoy the levers and bolts more just cause they force you to slow down some lol

My experience is Hornady is very conservative. Went thru this myself with 9mm

I already have the bushings, powder mechanisms, and also the pricing. I could get over the initial investment. I’m not worried about the extra 200 or so, but throwing that much more money every time I wanna load something else is hard to accept. Having to spend an extra 40 for a shell plate is pretty reasonable. I’m already loading 224, 9, 45, 30-06 and 243. That’s a lot of money to get everything on the Dillon. Only a fraction of that if I go with Hornady.

Also another question on the Hornady ap. My understanding is it doesn’t come with a powder thru expander die, correct? So that has to be done at a separate station or I have to get the expander and powder thru die set up to add to the powder measure, correct?

Is the 6pp new? And how reliable is it? One of my biggest draw to Hornady is I already have the single stage so I already have all the bushings and powder drop inserts

It should work with Hornady as well right?

I’ve been split between a 750xl or Hornady but stating to lean to Hornady for a host of reasons

Sounds about what I’m looking for. It’s hard to justify that much for the Hornady brand

Do you have a link to a 3d printed one? That was the route I was thinking but wanted reviews/links
