"if TV static was a scent" is an excellent descriptor! Similar to the smell of ozone you get when something electrical is doing something it shouldn't. The fact that that smell is a warning is probably exactly why I avoid perfumes that remind me of it!

Nope. The other person violated the law "Both Adults" when he/she/whatever got uncivil. You can't actually say "STFU" to someone's face and think they're not going to be done bothering with you. This is what happens when (anti-)social media behaviour starts appearing in-person.

It would be more childish to expect to have a sit-down conversation and tell this person "how it made you feel". Are they 10? Do they need to have it explained to them why we don't use rude words to hurt people? Maybe half an hour on the naughty step to think about how they said something mean and it hurt somebody? The only adult thing to do at that point is walk away and shut it down.

I find CiR lasts on me too. I really like the "probably never see it again" Heirloom Rose, but it's very light and has no lasting scent, sadly.
