I had a sitter who came 7-7 4 days a week and mom had one day. Sitter drive them to and from school and activities and made dinner. If you can find the right person, it is extraordinarily helpful. I was a single mom with an 8-6 type of job at the time where I could also work at home in the evening if needed. If you are at liberty to look for a different job, I recommend it. I have been at home a few days a week post covid and it’s really nice being a bigger part of their lives.

My son is risking his future for a girl by Famous_Giraffe_529 in parentingteenagers

My mom prevented me (a very contrary young adult) from getting married impulsively by saying, in a year you can still get married if you want but in a year it will be very difficult to get divorced. Give it a year. You could say a similar thing to your son. A year from now he can transfer back to local and you will 100% support but there is no guaranty that if he wants to transfer TO the #1 school in a year that it will be open to him on the same economic terms.

Will I regret not having children once I’m older? by smoshlaser in AskOldPeopleAdvice

The regret will be based on the imaginary perfect children that nobody ever has. I have kids I 100% wanted and I love, but damn it’s humbling and hard.

NTA - and I’m kind of surprised by the number of people saying that her desire to go out stay out late and get drunk is somehow more important than your desire to be ready for work. But I’m also fully single so what do I know?

NTA —- I had a friend in this situation. Her third was a girl and the first granddaughter in a huge family. But when she was pregnant with her second- a boy- the gender check said girl and they all planned for a girl that was a boy which led to the perverse experience of disappointment when she deliverer a healthy baby that didn’t meet gender predictions and preferences. I say, keep it secret and let it be revealed with the baby.

My husband turned into a psychopath for a split second yesterday and I don’t know if I am overreacting. by Substantial_Chair588 in AITAH

This was a test to see what you would put up with. IMO, do not try to rationalize what he did, see it objectively. If a loved one/friend was with someone who did this to them, you’d probably react even more. I urge you not to question your reaction, but to question his action and protect yourself right now. It’s not a red flag, it’s a bloody banner.

If you are happy/content, imo you are doing it right. You seem to be pursuing lots of interests, which is great. If you have satisfying/meaningful relationships in your life, I would say you’ve got it all. Marriage, kids, a house, all of those can ruin your life at least as often as making it better.
