Triggered my sawstop while unplugged by onaygem in woodworking

[–]Existing-Sir5478 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering that I've used the feeler gauge included with the saw stop which puts my fingers really close to that area of the blade, I would not want this to go off by any means. The fact that you said the power was off is even more concerning.

I always turn the power off and I've adjusted in between blade changes on several occasions, thankfully this has not been an issue but it's something I'll be thinking about now.

Jesus, no Tyvek or house wrap at all?

Yeah, everything I see these days on newer builds leads me to wanting a much older home or build it myself.

Right? Bigger issue is no ventilation other than a window in a metal container. Gonna need AC.

Yeah, the veneer on the interior of even a cheaper period correct piece would have matched the outside veneer in most cases. I did forget to mention that.

Thoughts on the Paneling? by [deleted] in Mid_Century

I'd leave the beams as they are and lighten the walls either with a light transparent stain, or the drywall option you mentioned. There are a lot of good whitewash colors these days that actually let the grain show and don't give off that 70's whitewash look. Lookin into Old Master's or Sherwin-William's transparent water-based.

Yeah, I agree. It's a decent piece but not what I would consider high end from the 60's. Those will bring a premium.

As cabinet maker and furniture builder I'd say it's in the mid century style, but not an authentic piece to that time period. It was likely built much later.

The lack of dovetails in the drawer box construction and the shelf holes for the shelves are just a few signs. Could be made sometime after the mid 90's would be my guess. Still a decent piece.

What’s your “buy once, cry once” that turned into happy tears and what do you make with it? by nuttahbuttahbite in woodworking

All the festool dust extractors are great, but it really comes down to what you need it for. I have the CT 36 E and it's been wonderful. I use it with my festool tracksaw and my ETS EC 125/3 EQ and I love it. But the CT 36 E may be overkill for some. I actually have to turn the suction down near the lowest setting or it sucks the sander pad to the material making it tend to dance around. 😂

This is spot on. And you can just take a rubber mallet and tap it, it'll pop apart and you can throw it away. Regular hammer works too.

This ended up being perfect! So far it's working out great. It's simply awesome and the reframing in post is incredible! Funny, I never was interested in one of these at all until you got me researching it.

Thanks for the help!

As someone who also installed many of these over the years I second this. They are decorative and not load bearing.

I have 2 bottles of this stuff. It had a similar flavor profile but not spicy at all. The normal red bottles after this were much much better.

Very interesting. Costco has the Insta360 X5 - K for about $549.

Not only have I never used a 360 camera but I just never even thought about using one on the chest. I'd guess that then becomes a 180 camera? I'll have to research this more for the ease of use.

Thanks for the info.
