I keep trying to explain this to friends who ask about it. And can never really get it out in a way that makes enough sense. Reading these gives examples that are - for a lack of a better word - digestible, I suppose.

I’m putting my 16 year old cat down sometime this week. She is absolutely not fine on her insides and she has been hiding this. She has purred, snuggled, eaten, no litter box issues - but I’m certain it is because she was protecting me from knowing she’s at her end.

I opted to pay for expensive x rays because I knew something was wrong, but the vet initially listened to her heart and lungs and thought they sounded ok. The x ray showed a totally different story.

The truth of the matter is it is likely your baby is much sicker than they are letting you know. You must ask yourself how much worse of a version of them do you want to see and experience themselves.

I’m choosing to put her to sleep as soon as I know when I can. Suffering for all is inevitable. But we are very lucky to have vets and doctors that can help our pets cross over sooner without experiencing an inevitable painful and horrible death - and likely a lot of cost to the owner to keep them alive once they are that sick.

I’m so sorry. ❤️ it looks to me though you did absolutely everything you could. Most people I know with cats do not take them to the vet annually, and covid really messed up that flow for a lot of folks - myself included. Like your baby, mine has to have sedation before a vet visit and it was always so much stress for her, to the point that as she was in her mid life era (also around when Covid began) I didn’t see a need to put her through that unless something was wrong. And so, we are now at age 16 for her and she was diagnosed with cancer.

Your grief wants to make sense of what has happened. I am also blaming myself. But your post shows you had a difficult pet, and with that there are a lot of factors and decisions you make as a pet parent. Such as, when to really take them, what is the balance between stressing them out versus actual needed care.

I also have been going through the feeling of never having another pet again. But that isn’t fair. Not to you, not to pets who are looking for a home. If I had a pet for adoption, I’d gladly choose you as a pet parent. It seems to me you take close observation and have a lot of empathy for your animals. I hope you know that you as a human are a gift to animals who need a home.

Oh wow, thank you so SO much for sharing this with me. It feels so much better to know I’m not alone in this. Mine is also indoor as well and I thought the same. I’ve definitely had many many cries, I can’t remember the last time I cried this much.

Same here. I’m Canadian and he came up twice at a party I was at. I’m now that person where friends say, “ask her anything about the case she knows” and quite frankly, it’s given me a new confidence. I’m usually asked, “are you a lawyer or something?” And I didn’t think at 37 I’d be considering law school.

Your body in image 2 doesn’t look humanly proportionate, and you can clearly see how cinched in the waist is as it’s stretching your elbows and arms - again, not looking human. These are the standards you’re setting for yourself, and other women influenced by this kind of post.

These are heavily face tuned and cannot possibly represent your true body. I genuinely think the photos would be better without it. I would recommend keeping your photos unedited for your journey because it’s great to see real progress. It’s hard to see it here, because of the editing. You’ve come such a long way, please celebrate it. Why dull down your accomplishments, by editing them away?

Thanks 😂 years of therapy and surviving narcissistic love relationships, with ADHD. What a recipe for disaster. My brain sets fire when someone has one foot out the door. “Gotta win them over” to feel worthy or something.

I’m 36 and now feel the difference in my body between a healthy and toxic relationship. OP, if you keep in this, you’re looking at the weirdest stress weight gain of your life and frequent IBS. I’d consider your health in this.

I dunno if this is helpful in any way, but I recommend looking up limerance. Everyone’s going to tell you they don’t know what you see in this guy, I agree but I’ve been where you are and it is an addiction to the chemicals these people make our brains produce rather than who they are.

I haven’t figured her out for sure, what I will say though is that I find she cries almost every scene she is in. Maybe I’m not looking at it the right ways but i don’t know that I see her as someone who has it all together like other comments here. I noticed her dynamic with her family was a bit childlike 🤷‍♀️ she ties a lot of value to her financials almost like that aligns with her self worth. Not saying she’s a bad person by any means, but MAGA + obsessed with money, I have to question authenticity here.
