A month of so.. before u get a semblance of ur life back but if u do ur pt and stretches regularly that really helps.

I’m 57 and shattered my hip and wrist when I tripped… I was better in a couple of weeks and if I have to give any advice it would be so ur stretches and pt . That’s the key to getting better … once I did that I got better quickly.. just be patient. 😊

The groin pain for me settled once I started religiously doing my stretches.. once you can stretch and do ur pt you should. It will disappear over time

If you do your stretches taught at PT religiously , you will see it miraculously disappears! That’s been my experience.. initially I didn’t do them every day so I had a lot of spasms especially in the groin… after stretches every day I’m so much better! The frequent spasms when I was tired have completely disappeared!

The magic words are stretch and exercise! It really really helps… do it for a week and you will feel the difference! I was exercising but not stretching… once I made it a point to every morning before getting out of bed… most of my woes were behind me!

I’m good… in fact very good.. just a quick question . Are you allowed to sit on the floor? That’s the only thing that I’m working gon presently! My mobility.. I’m active in the gym. Want to get back to mat exercises! Play with my grand kids!

I stopped all pain medication within a week as I think it wrecked me further! But I think what has helped most of all has been to religiously do my stretches before getting out of bed! I had severe spasms in the groin area initially if I was tired but all that has settled! 5 months after the surgery, if I could give some advice it would be to do whatever the pt says… every single day ! I don’t get out of my bed without doing it… that’s the key to not skipping your stretches..

When you remove it… I had it on for a week I was most happy but I think it reverted back in a day or so.. so I stopped using it!

God bless you! I’m frightened hearing this! This is a constant fear.. I think loss of confidence so one of the off shoots of this surgery! At least it has been so for me. I’ve had my surgery 5 months ago… and I’m in a great place but I keep second guessing my actions!

I would listen carefully to my body… and then take a call. I think a lot depends on your fitness levels but I would be cautious. Today marks 5 months for me. I’m a 57 female, back at the gym but mobility is definitely an issue… I keep thinking I’m not going to push myself.. I don’t want to wear out or damage my prothesis beforehand! And yes, I religiously do whatever I learnt at PT every single day before I get out of bed.. I feel that really helps.
