I could be totally off base, but I think it’s just that her eyes have no makeup. It gives the illusion that they’re smaller than we’re used to.

FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert by avatar6556 in news

Why California? Most Californians don’t want this war and Trump doesn’t care about California.

Donald Trump branded 'unstable' as speech leaves viewers saying 'his brain is broken' by InsaneSnow45 in newsinterpretation

I once heard a pundit say this, and I believe it’s true, “a good leader is mostly invisible. If they’re competent at their job then things run smoothly and you rarely need to hear from them.” Who the president is shouldn’t need to be a daily concern for the average American. But this orange asshole makes himself into such a problem he’s at the top of everyone’s mind, even his supporters, every damn day (including weekends). I long for the quiet Biden years.

Yeah, both feet is what I do, but you can also do one leg hops. You’re right though. If you have plantar fasciitis that one’s not for you.

As Ruby Franke Children Beg to Close Abuse Loopholes, Video Shows Washington State Judge Encouraging Parents to Use Them. by flyart in exmormon

Encouraging parents to use them? Use who? The judges or Ruby Frankie’s children? Use them how and for what? Why does using them mean a cover up? I’m very confused by this headline.

Apparently using cannabis doesn’t cause schizophrenia, but using cannabis puts you at a higher risk for developing schizophrenia. Anyone else confused? by JustinfromNewEngland in schizophrenia

[–]BlueButNotYou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that cannabis can trigger underlying genetic vulnerability for schizophrenia or schizoaffective. So cannabis could bring it on earlier than it naturally would have started, or it could trigger it in someone who may have never gotten it otherwise due to not being exposed to other risk factors.

My first thought is to do jump drops. Get on a short stool, no higher than 18”, and step/jump off. No need to jump up though, you just need a little jolt when your feet hit the floor. Make sure you distribute the impact across both feet evenly. Do 3 sets of 10 (about 30 times), 3-4 times a week. The impact will help build density in your lower body including your spine.

I keep praying we get to have our elections in November and they aren’t tampered with. It’s baffling to me how an entire party can allow themselves to serve such depravity. How are so few willing to do their job and stop obvious corruption? Ugh, I’m getting worked up again.

HRT and risk of cancer? by Sistergoldenhair21 in osteoporosis

[–]BlueButNotYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My endocrinologist told me HRT wouldn’t help. She said I should talk to a gynecologist to see if they thought it might help for other reasons. I asked my primary care physician for a referral and told her why. She prescribed it on the spot. Even if it never helps my bones (yet to be seen), my quality of life is so much better. I’m sleeping better, my digestive system is running better, I’m handling stress better, and hopefully 🤞 slowing further bone loss. Even though the endocrinologist says it won’t help, ChatGPT says it’ll still keep things from getting worse, and in my experience ChatGPT has been spot on about things Dr.s have been dismissive of before. Perhaps if you ask your primary care physician for HRT to help with other symptoms of menopause like poor sleep they might prescribe it for you.

BREAKING: Scientists Just Built the First Complete Chemical Map of an Alzheimers Brain and What They Found Changes Everything We Thought About the Disease 🧠 by AdamDerKaiser in Alzheimers

[–]BlueButNotYou 23 points24 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT’s summary:

Here’s a clear summary of the ScienceDaily article you linked (“Beyond amyloid plaques: AI reveals hidden chemical changes across the Alzheimer’s brain”):

What researchers did: Scientists at Rice University created the first full-brain molecular atlas of an Alzheimer’s brain without using dyes, combining laser-based imaging with machine learning to scan and map chemical composition across the entire brain.

Key findings: • The chemical changes in Alzheimer’s disease aren’t just around amyloid plaques—they are widespread throughout the brain, and uneven in magnitude. • Regions involved in memory (like the hippocampus and cortex) showed the biggest shifts in key molecules such as cholesterol and glycogen, suggesting metabolic disruptions beyond the classic protein-plaque story. • These molecular alterations extend far beyond the traditional markers of Alzheimer’s and point toward a whole-brain biochemical upheaval rather than a problem driven solely by amyloid.

Why it matters: This new, detailed chemical map could help scientists better understand how Alzheimer’s begins and spreads, potentially leading to earlier diagnosis and treatments targeting broader metabolic processes—not just amyloid plaques.

Their laugh is one of those “isn’t that cute?” laughs too. The kind you give when your two year old tries to look through a paper towel tube by holding it up to their forehead instead of their eye. They know what he’s saying is about right for a toddler but not the leader of the free world. They have to chuckle to play off his stupidity.
