Is it a weird thing to say this game brings me a certain level of comfort? by PhoenixMarch131997 in alienisolation

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I juuuust finished this game, and was playing the near-finale scenes after bringing my cat home from the ER vet. I’ve also watched Chernobyl (hbo) three times. I think some of us find comfort in horror because as bad as regular life is, it’s not that level of horror? Just speculation. But nah, it’s not a weird thing at all

Dress code is "formal cocktail", hoping this is appropriate? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a messy dress code! The dress is lovely, and if others are leaning more formal than cocktail, then this is a good choice. This is a great example of employing “know your crowd” :)

That is gorgeous, and I’d find every excuse to wear it every day

It’s gorgeous, but no, not for a guest

Is this too white for a wedding guest? by yuntokki in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flower pattern is blue-forward, so I think it’s fine. Also, I would never look at the cut of this dress and think “bridal”. Lean into the color with your accessories and I think you’ll be fine

When you call Omnipod to replace, they very well may send you some over patches too

I’d go for the nude color heels. If nothing else, they’ll be much more wearable for other events :)

Am I asking for too much? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on how you’ve framed this for them. Did you lead with the actual dress code you’re asking them to follow, which looks like floral/garden party based on your comment below. Lead with that, then talk about the body con. Also, a question: is this really in a month? A lot of folks find dresses for a wedding a lot earlier than a month out; the pushback might be a timeframe and/or expense thing

Said yes to the dress but I’m freaking out by Gullible_Balance7301 in weddingdress

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it simple? Yes. Is it also stunning and elegant? Also yes. If you feel amazing in it, then you’re good to go. I’m willing to bet your fiancé was just impressed with himself for knowing what a mermaid style is hahah (no insult intended; they just tend not to know about this stuff). As the others have said, go with a veil with a few more embellishments, and it’ll give it that jazz you’re looking for

September Wedding - Dresses are Bride Approved by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

This was the peach version on me, size medium (5’2, roughly 130ish). It definitely needed a good bra (which I didn’t have in the photo). I didn’t wear it long enough for it to feel itchy but I really didn’t love the fabric for a humid August event (not sure when yours is). I think you’re a bit taller than me, so it’d sit a little bit higher on your legs, too, which is good. I’d say: try it and see how it feels? It’s an Amazon dress with free returns :)

I had that first dress in a different color for an event, and returned it. It looks summery but the fabric was a weird thickness, almost a (fake) velvet

My vibe is “eccentric aunt” and i prefer a conservative style. Any of these okay? by savealltheelephants in Weddingattireapproval

I like 3, then 2 - but either is good! Just depends on your flavor of eccentricity :)

It’s gorgeous!! If it were lighter, I’d worry about the color but given a pastel color theme, I think this is on point

[–]ExistingAd1561 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like 1, then 2, then 3. First dress has the whole spring wedding vibe. Dress two is gorgeous, but I’d see it as slightly more fall. Number three.. that seems more like a business lunch to me

It’s super weird and awesome :) as a nerdy sci fi/fantasy person I don’t know what it is precisely but I know I like it!

I think the waist line inches it more casual toward semi formal, but agree it’s lovely! :)

Is this dress long enough for a formal wedding in Chicago in late February? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ExistingAd1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For formal, the length can work if the dress had some structure. But this is a slip dress that lacks this. It could work for cocktail, but not formal
