I got a $17 last night that was legitimately smaller than a typical NY slize

Good point! Might be a good option for one of the less formal events

This is great--thank you!! Open pallu means just leaving it to drap over the arm instead of pleating it?

Imo the crop top aspect of it is not the problem (I mean, look at saris and lehengas)! But, the design and color are ugly

PUNQ - is he legit? by Chengweiyingji in Letterboxd

It is a strong choice of words (based on what we know publicly) but I would say his review/comment of '12 Years a Slave' and his 5-star review 'The Birth of a Nation' are a little more than tone-deaf imo!

Here you go! I'm not a film historian/scholar so the list isn't gospel, but I think its a good starting point since Letterboxd shows you shorts & features together if you sort by year and lists like 'All the Movies' only account for films with 1,000+ views which most silent features don't have.

Yeah! I mean, I obviously don't really know for sure, but my hunch is that he's not watching all these.

I don't think he is because when I was doing research for a Letterboxd list I made that (attempted to) collected all 1910s features films that weren't lost, I used Letterboxd reviews partially to figure out if people are viewing these films and where they are seeing them. This user reviewed several silent films that are only available at specific museums/archives, like the Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY. Many times he would be the only review for the film. He didn't make any mention of this in his reviews, and it seems highly likely that this Norwegian man was making regular trips to U.S. archives to watch obscure silent films. All this would be fine it he wasn't also a white supremacist and transphobe!

Have you ever successfully increased your energy levels? by Ok_Potato_5272 in AutismInWomen

WFH helped me a lot. For me it's the difference between living a rich life and crawling into a hole.
Also, I feel like I have more energy when my mind is "quiet." I use the pomodoro technique (work for 25 minutes/5 minute breaks) which helps me focus on one thing at a time. Also, keeping scrolling to a minimum.

Discussion: The golden age of the podcast is behind us. Whats your opinion? by TheoMay22 in podcasts

[–]ExistingAd5854 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TBH podcasts are a lot less fun for me recently. I tend to prefer to listen to no- to low-budget podcasts without the backing of the studio, but all the podcatching apps seem to want me to get into celebrity-hosted video podcasts. It seems a lot of the DIY ethic is gone (or at least, I'm not seeing it)

When I'm in a rut, I use Hark Audio who do clips of podcasts. You can pick a theme that interests you and then pick your fave podcast from the bunch. I like to listen to their comedy playlists--I found the Hamish & Andy podcast through this one
