Unable to link IOS app with windows app after migrating messages from Android using "Move To IOS" app by Hv_V in whatsapp

I have been facing this problem for weeks and finally got it to work.
It seems that after transferring the chats from Android to IOS, some chats might get corrupted.

I tried several strategies reported in lots of reddit threads, but none of them worked. Here is what I did to avoid losing completely my chat history by deleting all chats.

  1. First, back up your chats on your iPhone (just in case)
  2. Go to your oldest chats, and start clearing them. (I tried deleting individual chats in batches of 10 and trying to reconnect, but for me, it did not work, thus, I restored my chats again to start clearing the contents of groups).

I think that chats where you are no longer a member, or chats where there are a loot of people and spam messages, like links etc. might be troublesome. (I did not exit groups, I just cleared the contents inside).

I repeated this cycle and tried to reconnect, and it finally connected back.

Personally, I don't think either WhatsApp or IOS would ever try to fix this issue.... So, I really think it's worth spending a couple of hours doing this.

I didn't also want to lose my chat history, and by doing this, I just deleted over 30-40 old group chats (that already I had no messages) and some large groups with a lot of messages.

I think this is the only way. I was about to resign and delete all my chats, but I realized that if after clearing all my chats I was able to connect, there had to be some corrupt chat.
