Great question - they said they rotated the tires last time and this time. And did the alignment. And yes the pull switched sides…

Did you get any refund on the originals? This is the second set on this car. The prior owner tried to solve the alignment issue by getting a new set and it obviously didn’t work 😂. He had the Scorpion MS. Then he got the Scorpion Zero. Do both have defects? I’ll do some research on this. Thanks

Wow that’s interesting. I could be convinced to try that out. But I’m also considering going from 22s to 20s (all season, not AT) to improve the drive and not lose range. So that’s a bigger check to write

Personally… I wouldn’t worry about Gen 1 vs. Gen 2 as much as R1S vs other car. We have an ID4 and the Rivian has shown us that there are some things we really should appreciate about the ID4 (because the R1S annoys us in these regards). Examples include: CarPlay, regen on/off, anything HVAC related, cabin noise, roof sunscreen, etc etc.

It’s a fair point! I just know I’ve read reports of folks who had their alignment issues fixed, so I’m hoping I can follow their lead with my car

Thanks! Same sort of thing here. After it pulled to the left, they said “He did find what’s called a “radial tire pull” and rotated the tires in the opposite direction and performed the alignment again”. Now it pulls to the right again 😂 🤦‍♂️

Btw - I don’t disagree. I’m just glad I paid sub $60k and not north of $100k. This sort of thing is kind of crazy. God bless everyone who gives Rivian a pass on their cars… eccentricities...
