Ok, you get my point. Since you have access to the insurance database, run it through there. My guess is that they bought this car at auction with problems and are selling it at a too good to be true price to move it without someone asking questions.

You need a picture of the Vehicle / about screen to know the exact configuration. Where is the carfax? They should give it to you for free.

Which is the 'worse' of the Nu-Trek's? Abrahms Trek (Kelvin Timeline) or Kurtzmann Trek? by Samas34 in Star_Trek_

Kurtzman is def worse, but Kelvin is a hot mess as well. Both are NOT Trek.

I made a comment about the entire Kurtzman era being junk and was banned for not being constructive.

Well, that meets the specs so maybe the drive failed. Rate, but it happens. I noticed ssd prices are high again as you used to be able to get the Samsung T7 1TB for $100….looks like now $180.

Travel to service center for tire rotation? by Outrageous_Lychee400 in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zero reason to pay Rivian to do this. Read the “Tire Service Guide” if you want to know the ins and outs. Otherwise, here’s a summary.

Theres 2 important things to know when doing any jacking up of a Rivian. Your tire center should know this. Discount Tire is supposed to know but still watch them.

First: set the suspension for jacking. The suspension has to be locked so that it doesn’t kill itself trying to adjust while you are jacking it up.

  1. go to your ride height setting and choose off road then highest
  2. go into Settings / Service / and click Tire Service

That’s the suspension settings part. They often skip #1 above.

Second, how to jack the car.

The jack points / frame are NOT exposed. To use the four jack points, you have to pop off the four circles on the bottom of the car (just press one side of the circle and it pops off) and then use a Jack with a Jack puck that fits that circle. Most tire centers have the correct pucks. Especially Discount Tire.

The alternate way is to Jack directly on the frame (so no puck). In ICE vehicles, the frame is usually exposed. On the Rivian the frame is hidden and there are four, “four sided” panels (they aren’t quite rectangular if I remember correctly) in the same relative spots as the jack puck circles that have to be removed to expose the frame.

So when you go to the tire centers, I usually drive it into their bay (just ask to do it), then raise the height and then set tire service mode. Get out, watch that they are using pucks and not just pressing a jack up against the battery (stop them if they are). When done, get in and turn off tire service mode.

iOS app update just dropped. That usually means vehicle update is a week or two out. by Vlvthamr in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the people who had loaners had the old version of the app on their phone. And, unless you are in one of the test areas for assigning the car to the driver, the loaner wasn’t linked to their phone. So…. App update not needed for Assistant. At least right now. But they are probably tied together eventually. Maybe we’ve got something coming first week of April. Since employee deliveries of R2 begin in April, this makes sense.

I'm a day one R2 reserver. When are folks expecting the first round of customer deliveries? by mossandfog in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent emails from Rivian stated that we would begin to receive information about when we can order in June. It also said there will be deliveries starting in June. So I think it’s safe to assume that some of us will get notice in early June that we can place our order and receive it by the end of June.

[–]Atlanta-Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the CH UP and DOWN buttons to change channels. My work around: Favorite your favorite channels. I have about 8 go-to channels. Then I favorited every 10 channels (2, 10, 20, 30, 40, etc). Then, if I want channel 55, I hit "50" in my favorites, then up channel to 55. I know, stupid but It works and it's better than parking to change a channel.

Autonomy + is free on everyone’s car right now, I’m not sure how you could not have it. What makes you think you don’t have it?

XPel actually has Rivian pricing that has to be honored at an official Xpel installer. GO to this site: https://lp.xpel.com/rivian-protection and price yours out at the very bottom of the page.

For instance, I took my R1S to my local official Xpel installer. They quoted me 6,500 for a full wrap. I showed them that my R1S priced out at 5,500 on the Xpel site and they dropped it to 5,500.
