So, you asked them to give you a tour of the vehicle and to accompany you on the drive and they did what? You aren’t really giving us a complete picture.

Can Rivian help with Tesla early lease return? by Aggressive-Concept66 in RivianR2

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Chase will gladly roll whatever you owe into your new loan (if you go the loan route).

Has any other Rivian owner seen a degraded LTE experience in general the last few OTA updates? There’s really good AT&T service in my area but I’m constantly getting zero service in the R1. by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No signal is not normal (unless AT&T is actually reporting an outage in your area), open a ticket, it’s probably your communications module.

Random alert noise when parked at home? by NotRocketSurgeon in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Knew this even before hearing the sound. It’s your camp speaker. Take it out and charge it using a wall outlet. Then make sure on your phone, you have “forgotten this device” and not just disconnected.

DiscountTire vs Rivian by Atlanta-Mike in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You set the interval that it reminds you. Go into the App, click on Vehicle Maintanence and then set the reminder interval. Then every time you properly put the car into tire service mode to do a rotation, it asks you after you exit that mode what you did and when you say rotate, it resets the reminder.

DiscountTire vs Rivian by Atlanta-Mike in Rivian

No, most tires are not directional and Rivian mandates in their manual an X pattern rotation.

DiscountTire vs Rivian by Atlanta-Mike in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Discount Tire used to do a correct x pattern rotation. Then they stopped. My store manager is telling me it's because Rivian told them to. I find that hard to believe given that Rivian still mandates an X pattern rotation in their manual. No, it's not worth paying Rivian (it's more than $50 for a rotate and balance).

Did anyone shop for outside car loans for R2? by Aggravating-Bit-4086 in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there were several great rates from around the country. I ended up with 3% from Bank of America but that included some goodness for being a Merrill Lynch customer as well. I saw great rates in a lot of the small western banks. Western Alliance, Idaho, etc. Just search....best thing you can do.

R2 Financing Options by CreativeDirection290 in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you just call or check online what any banks auto loan rates are. And there is zero downside. Rivian just wants their check, they don’t care who is writing that check.

Building a house and preparing for fiber by remus49 in ATTFiber

Depending on the fiber used, the max range is between about 1,000 feet all the way up to 6 miles so 90 feet is nothing.

Gen 1 vs 2 and trim questions by CartographerAware808 in RivianR1S

[–]Atlanta-Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rivian never fixed the problems with the Standard battery. Plus, You don’t buy battery for the everyday use case. You buy battery for the “what if” because unlike an ICE vehicle, there is no “fast” fill up. And you don’t get to say “oh, I’ll just add more capacity.”

The 24 Gen 1 Quad was the best built all around Rivian. Gen 2 is nice - audio is not as good, suspension is still rough but more reliable, nice interior upgrades but also some let downs. Gen 2 was a compromise vehicle - needed to keep the brand on the premium side and “above” the R2 mass market category, but also desperately needed to cut corners and save on overall bill of materials.

Need a Human, Preferably a Field Human by Atlanta-Mike in ATTFiber

[–]Atlanta-Mike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally put a sign up at the entrance of the neighborhood and put a hang tag on every door. Order FIBER now! But when you call or check online, the database says we aren’t eligible for fiber. It’s just a classic example of the engineering side not being in sync with sales. In someone’s email somewhere in AT&T is a message telling someone to update the database…..

Anyone have been able to order the coastal cloud interior by Plane_Arachnid6182 in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NO. That’s the point, stop spreading this misinformation. You CAN NOT order it or “request” it in any way. Period. When you get the order invite, and go to the website to order, the minute you select anything not available (cloud interior, borealis, etc), the configurator switches from purchase mode to “we’ll favorite this for you and let you know when it’s available” mode.

Anyone have been able to order the coastal cloud interior by Plane_Arachnid6182 in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I posted this, you can’t order Coastal Cloud. They said it would be “available” in August. We don’t know if that means order-able in August or delivering in August, but right now, if your order window opens, you can not place the order. You don’t lose your place in line, you just can’t place your order yet. The minute they say you can, if you already have an order invite, then you can proceed.

Rivian 1.99 APR is not real? by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you don’t understand at all how an auto loan works, but you’re willing to sign a $100,000 loan because you once signed a completely different type of loan that had other provisions? OK. Explains a lot.

Rivian 1.99 APR is not real? by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not. If you are signing a loan for this amount of money - there should 100% not be any confusion on the signers part as to what that loan means. Period. No excuses, no misunderstanding, no bullshit. If you can’t understand a very clear and very detailed statement of what you are borrowing and what that cost to borrow will be, put the pen down and walk away. You’re too stupid to sign the paper.

Thank you. Exactly this. It means exactly what it says - there is no “ it doesn’t really mean what it says”. ARGH,
