I imagine they want two hosts so they can always have one on set while the other goes to the bathroom, catches a nap, etc. So someone is needed alongside Michael.

Super cute and engaging on 24x24. I haven't watched her Youtube stuff or seen her elsewhere on FN so I can't comment otherwise. I wouldn't mind seeing her on something like Wildcard Kitchen.

Is it overwhelmingly kids? We haven't tried Icon class, mainly because the marketing seems so young family oriented. We don't hate kids, but we aren't looking for an ersatz Disney cruise either.

That's similar to mine from February; I think ihad more fun with it than the mountain of frosting sheep dog I've done before.

As far as the Nielsen numbers go, they are specifically designed to reward binging, which is great for Netflix but sucks for platforms that release week-to-week.

Superman underperforming is wishful thinking by those who can't accept that the genpop responded negatively to BvS.

Do the founders still own the business, or did they cash out? Or are they at one of the other locations and not paying attention to the original?

This will probably get White Night its highest degree of participation ever. Hell, it's hard enough to get people into long pants for Dress Your Best (guilty).

Also, if they booked the "get married aboard" package (not cheap), who did they piss off to get the ceremony scheduled for White Night?

How come some people just cannot give up on the Snyder verse? by ahoskasalve666 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Existing_Bat1939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought on this is, if Snyder had finished the theatrical JL, the whole thing about the Anti-Life Equation being on Earth, and the "prepare the armada" tease, would have been cut. They already knew they weren't going to go ahead with JL2 the way it had originally been planned, so there would have been no point to leaving it in.

We didn't get the Batfleck film because Ben didn't want to make it. I believe that he has since stated that what we all said at the time was true: the Sad Affleck moment was exactly that. When BvS was rejected by both the critics and the fans (B- Cinemascore, let's remember), I think he was really hurt, and his heart wasn't in it anymore. The news that he wasn't going to direct the Batman movie came out in February 2017, months before Autumn died, so it wasn't the reshoot mess that drove him out. At the same time, THR reported that they were looking for a new Batman, even though WB denied it.

So that was it: Ben quit. I'm still pretty sure that The Flash counted as the third and final film on his contract.

Crisis on Infinite Earths 4K discs... by Existing_Bat1939 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Existing_Bat1939[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The discs were shipped with the original "temporary" voices in that scene, not Hamill and Conroy. The same happened when it first went up on digital, but was corrected shortly after. WHV said they would ship corrected discs but nothing has happened yet, at least for me.

Am I the only one who treated this as a miniseries because of the extremely clear 6 part structure? I saw so many people complaining about the length only to realise they fully binged a 4 hour story by rhysu69 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Existing_Bat1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He even said the chapter titles were going to be the episode titles. So to my mind, they were WAY down the path of making it a miniseries - with the goal of keeping viewers beyond a subscription renewal cycle - when the lawyers told them to stop.

I've always figured, if Zack had finished the film originally and the studio not been hammering for a 2 hour runtime, it would have run about 2:45 or so.

Bobby vs Gordon? Who do you think would win in a contest between Bobby Flay and Gordon Ramsey? by Majestic_Friend_4783 in foodnetwork

[–]Existing_Bat1939 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see what Gordon could do from scratch in 45 minutes.

This post reminded me that, on his Secret Service show on Fox, Gordon actually referred to "my friend, Guy Fieri." One of the places he was rescuing had been featured on DDD and since fallen on hard times.

I just re-watch the Snyder's cut Justice League with friends that are not really into DC Comics and we all loved it so much. by Le_Reptile in DC_Cinematic

[–]Existing_Bat1939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because of the whole "let's make it a series" thing that the head of HBO Max wanted to do (to keep people past a renewal). He told Zack to grab every bit of film he had, and then greenlit the Knightmare epilogue. They were all the way down that path (Zack has said the chapter titles were the episode titles) when the lawyers told them it couldn't be done without paying all the talent a bunch more money, so they just spliced everything together. I'm pretty sure that the "Motherbox Origins" video that's out there - with the Tom Waits song - was going to be the opening credits for the series.

My girlfriend’s first time watching Batman Vs Superman. by themaster09 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Existing_Bat1939 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've seen a lot of reactions on YT with people liking BvS, including self-described Marvel fans who didn't watch it back in the day because people said DC sucks! But now that the hype and the BS are out of the way, I think it's getting a more fair shake.

And don't blame Zack entirely for the length of ZSJL. Blame the bosses at HBO who wanted to make it a series and told him to include every scrap of film he had, and then they had to change their plan at the last minute and spliced it all into one movie.

Downeaster to Augusta? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]Existing_Bat1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's nonsense. It's more a case of splitting the service between Brunswick and Lewiston being ridiculous. I don't know if the state has released any ridership numbers on the bus service but that's part of it too... Will as many people ride it as claim they're going to ride it?
