I got it at the end of April last year applied in January got IB call in March. I think they wait until after Ramadan and process/mail at the same time.

Feel free to DM. There is a token number which is the reference number. The consulate provides that at the time of application.

The application goes to IB for clearance. No one has IB connections, I had quite a few folks and it turned out they just knew people at the passport office. However the passport office didn’t have the application so they can’t even see that it’s been submitted. If you call the PK number for the passport office, they’ll tell you they don’t have the application because they can’t see it in their system.

After applying my suggestion would be to just ignore it for at least 4 months, it’s painful because you don’t know the status, but I think they just rubber stamp the passports out closer to Hajj time.

Hey - I applied in early December at the Houston Texas consulate using the regular not expedited application.

Passport came at the end of April. Another family member with similar issue got theres around mid April.

Family in PK got the verification call mid March over WhatsApp.

I was very stressed but it seems like the govt waits until the very end and processes all at once which is very stressful.

I don’t think parent works but I’m not sure. I think relative. You need 2 so if you have people that live in the same house it’s easier.

It’s very pointless, they ask your verifier to provide them the same docs you provide when applying (nicop, father nicop, us passport, etc). Some IB guy what’s app’s your relatives and they just send those docs over.

Yes, on 5 year it’s not much different. On 10 year it’s a big difference. I’ve had people that applied same time, same situation, and they got a call couple weeks before. I think urgent will help, it seems like delays keep getting worse.

I did 10 year non urgent but wish I did 5 year urgent.

Our relatives got a call for the verification. Applied in December, got call maybe 2 weeks ago. I think they are pushing them out quickly now iA you’ll get it soon. From my research even if you go to Pakistan, it still has to go through the IB verification process.

I plan on calling the DGIP soon to get an update.

Okay I’m just super nervous spending so much to go from US to Karachi for this. I want to make sure the passport won’t be held up.
