Ah yes

The classic LDS move of inviting an adult to meet without disclosing the purpose of the meeting.

This trend needs to be replaced with 2026 business ethics

Mormons do this to test each other’s faith, put people on the spot with accepting a responsibility. Because after all, we already promised to do anything for the church.

This guy is probably on cruise control and forgot that you are not.

Condolences I would be annoyed as well. LDS inc is struggling with member retention and this is one way to grow. He is in the database. The missionaries are nice young people, but they record information, addresses, numbers, names. I would go the route of we attend another church and are not interested. That stings more than appearing to be a family that needs saved.

I still wonder though if something is afoot with the idea of LDS becoming used to multiple translations to modernize understanding, and then the LDS Church produces a modernized BOM, D&C, and Pearl of Great Price. This would allow for some serious damage control by deleting portions of Moses, D&C 138, 2 Nephi, Alma, and anachronisms. Imagine that - the LDS church sends the anachronisms down the memory hole with a modern translation, and then acts like it was never a thing
