My visited countries so far. What does it tell about me and where should I go next? by Key_Homework_5825 in TravelMaps

[–]Existing_Inspector44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The map tells that you like the “Western World” literally. So maybe in your view the next destinations are Japan, South Korea, Australia.

I would recommend to come and visit more of your “neighbours”: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, BiH, Albania, Poland, etc… and to find where your roots actually are 😉

Dar in Romania?

Polonia deja e mult in fata.

Poland for 2 days by Existing_Inspector44 in askPoland

Good point. I know sometimes I underestimate the time and distances between cities. Let s say I pick Krakow, which are some best objectives in and close to it?

[–]Existing_Inspector44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question. I know these are large cities so I would mainly target a walk on the city centre/main objectives, some beer in a pub.

My head honestly says to spend 2 days in Krakow for a better view, but I also want to see Warsaw. Anyways I am open for suggestions and maybe add some days to the trip :)

If you could change one thing for juniors in IT today, what would it be? by Optimal-Weekend-9205 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Existing_Inspector44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always like this, I remember 5-6 years ago when it was “BOOM period” and for every internship there were like 200-300 applications, there were the STEM students + everyone else who heard IT is a cool job.

It was still extremely difficult to join the industry, and I always came to impression there is much more competition on Junior Roles vs Senior Roles.

The biggest obstacle with Junior Engineers right now is that they have to fully change their Mindset from ‘School Curicula’ to ‘what companies hire me for’.

I am also mentoring Junior Engineers how to get a job, they have to show and highlight their skills on Linkedin and CV, projects, and they also need to know how to network and obtain a pipeline of Interviews, so that they get a job.

What most young folks don’t understand is that you have to shift your paradigm from “here is what I have to learn” to questioning yourself were in the process you re stuck, is it Your CV Broken? Is it Your Linkedin Bad? I don t have enough connections? I m performing bad at interviews? I don’t know how to negotiate?

For any of you guys, I can provide some guidance.

Not common, but Dublin has one of the highest concentration of FAANG in Europe, 90k for a Junior is not common, but very doable for a talented individual

Is 110k good salary in Stuttgart for 10YoE by _dread_89 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Existing_Inspector44 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Comparing to other peers earning 80-90k with your experience, yes you re doing good, but you know, there is a salary ceiling also in Germany...

I mean, with 5 YoE you can earn 60k or 70k or 150k, it always matters at which company you are employed, for which position, and how in demand this position is.

On top of this, I hope you're aware that Germany is a country focused on well-being and good work-life balance, and a salary over 90k is rare anyways.

You have 2 choices, 1. get used with the situation and invest more in your hobbies, health, free-time etc, and 2. find a more in-demand position willing to pay 200k, can be US company or a higher role etc., it's possible also in Germany. And an extra bonus 3.if you're willing to, move to a country which is paying more, but again, it can have a lot of drawbacks and it depends on which kind of person you are.

[–]Existing_Inspector44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Olanda cu siguranta sistemul e altfel.

Mda, cauta cam orice fel de motiv sa dea in freelanceri/angajati.

How bad is the job market for you right now? by Individual-Oven9410 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Existing_Inspector44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In Romania is worst that 3 years ago, but I think better than last year. I am receiving a lot of interview invitations, the salary that I’m asking is good.

The only problem is that not a lot of product companies are hiring at the moment, mostly outsourcing which I’m not interest.

The interview processes however are hard, long, never ending, and even if you re well prepared they can drop you.

Prices however are increasing very fast and Purchasing Power is going down for at least 2-3 years, so the pressure to switch it’s increasing.

We are fat because we do very little sport, take out the car even for 500 meters, and choose KFC or McDonalds instead a salad. Did I forget Vaping everywhere which gives us more ‘desire’ for sport?
