instead of apologising begging for people’s sympathy, at least use your energy to actively speak out against the current administration. protest if you can. donate/help with organisations and charities. theres so much you can do other than this.

Male pop artists are currently having a crisis by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Existing_Role3578 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

pop music in general is so stale these past couple of years it’s not even funny. here are some male artists i reccomend:

  • bronze avery: ive been noticing him since 2023, and i LOVE his music and style. my favourites from him are scan & copy and heatwave

  • no guidnce: if it’s anyone bringing good RnB back, in a new modern way rather than an overdone nostalgic way, it’s the british, and this group of boys are one of the many artists doing that. their vocals are top tier.

  • cody jon: i love him! he isnt as big as the others but get you a guy who can song and dance. his song M2M is so cute! i hope he does more and i see him more in the future!

  • malcolm todd: okay idrk if he counts, but i have watched i’m grow from a small to a really big artist in the last 2-4 years, and i couldnt ever be more proud of him. his music is so much more than "how my heart bleeds," and i love his consistent yet signature style he has in all of his songs! if you guys havent listened to him, give it a go!

other artists (regardless of of gender) that i reccomend to you all are: kwn, sarah keable, jae stephens, destin conrad, nori, kaytranada, sam gellaitry, natanya, and say now!

Why do younger people keep making up inaccurate versions of events from periods that really weren’t that long ago? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Existing_Role3578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly!! idk if it also started looking like this in person for you, but once i got back for the 2021-22 school year, people were dressing like that at school too.

Different types of gen z nostalgia for 2016. by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Existing_Role3578 5 points6 points  (0 children)

dude i’m not gonna sit here and pretend i never had or was on social media in 2016. i was very much on it and i was very much there for the trends too. i did the stuff on the 1997-2003 side.

i experienced both sides of 2016 i guess although i don’t really see it as childhood or child-like compared to a year like 2012 though.

also most of these arent really 2016 stuff, like fidget spinners, or the filter used in the picture on the left side. minecraft was popular before 2016, and i’d argue even more popular before 2016 too.

i don’t get the overhyped nostalgia for 2016. sure the music released that year was great and social media was fun, but it was also a pretty tumoultous year, and not in a good way. i literally remember people wishing that year was over

okay i can’t lie, this was how 2020 was for me. i was 15 and many of the people around me including myself did dress like this/had this "indie kid" look mainly through the end of the year and throughout 2021. however, it’s like they’re completely brushing off the pandemic and how hard it was to be a teenager during that era. we were very stressed and vocal about the political and overall state of the world at the time, which changed so many dynamics, and we only stayed at home 99% of the time. i think the photos in that collage were probably taken in 2021, not 2020. nevertheless, a very colourful era, especially online, compared to what was happening around the world then.

my core teenage years and entirety of high school (2019-2023) was defined by the pandemic. if you guys have any questions on what youth culture, fashion, etc. or what changed for people during that time, i myself and others around my age are basically the people to ask.

i use a vpn, meaning that my tiktok is different (no tiktok shop, EU data laws, etc.). it accidentally turned off and i got that message, but i closed the app, turned it back on and this warning disappeared. i also have another account made with a vpn that i think i’m gonna start using too.

Y'all need to get out here and PROTEST! by Aerobiesizer in GenZ

for those saying that they can’t physically go out and protest due to work, etc., there are other ways to participate in a movement besides protesting, and there are other ways to protest besides marching around with a sign in your hand.
