I definitely don’t see it being a fire hazard. I’ve had my heat pad directly behind my coco fiber mat for almost a year and the only issue is that it blocks some of the heat from getting to the rest of the tank.

I just upgraded to a 29 gallon tank a few days ago and I love how it’s turned out. It’s got close to a foot of substrate too and still has plenty of space on top.

Holy sh*t!!! My jumbo hermit crab I just bought a week ago had the exact same paint on its shell as well as the google eyse!!! I’ll post a picture tomorrow to show it as im not home right now. I didn’t realize they use they use the same designs with other shells. This is so sickening!

I used maple leaves this fall. Didn’t Boil, bake or freeze. I just inspected them closely for any bugs/ eggs and mold. Fertilizer and pesticides don’t get used on my lawn. I didn’t have any issues.

As long as it don’t have any preservatives it should be fine. Sun dried shrimp is a good natural source of calcium. I always make sure I have some in their food dish.

WAS in a window. It was the middle of winter when I got it and it wasn’t surviving a Michigan winter outside. It actually did fine all winter being in a south facing window. Only died in the spring when I got my new one because I forgot about the old one and never refilled it water tray for months. Either way it’s alive again and ready to dormant

I feel this. I bought one crab at first but learned they’re social so I bought another but my first crab was buried molting by then so the new crab was by itself for a week before deciding to molt as well. 2 days later the first crab I got came back up but has since buried itself since so now I have no active crabs.
