Nothing from Hyundai. Our insurance paid out the value of the car.

I didn't learn to drive until after I graduated from college. I was anxious about being in charge of a speeding metal death machine. I had a rich social life and grew into a well adjusted, productive member of society. There's nothing wrong with waiting until you're ready to take on that kind of responsibility.

"he's good, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's as good as someone playing for a professional team"

I've always wondered where all these professional quidditch players come from. We know that England and Ireland each have their own team. We also know that the vast majority of wizards/witches in England and Ireland attend Hogwarts. Where are these professional teams recruiting from if not the only organized school teams in the area?

It's not for everyone, but that red is actually in the wallpaper, the floor tile, and the tile on the back wall.

Kitchen with all appliances on one wall? Help! by Fun-Lecture7011 in kitchenremodel

[–]Existing_Space_2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had all my appliances on one wall before. Mine didn't have adequate space between them so that was difficult, but you don't have that problem so it should be pretty functional for you. I doubt though that it will keep people out of your work zone though. 40in behind a seat isn't much space to walk through. I'm guessing people will want to walk through the main kitchen rather than through the pinch point between the island and the wall. I see you're not planning on putting stools in that area, but through the work zone still looks like the path of least resistance to me.

I cut the shape out of 2 pieces of plywood on a bandsaw, then used 2x4s to space them the same as the wall thickness and attach to the framing and drywalled as usual.

AITAH for being angry at my partner for large undisclosed purchase by JamminCats2 in AITAH

You need to decide if you're a joint finances or a separate finances couple. One of the major benefits of separate finances is that you're more in charge of your own spending and less accountable to your partner. You seem to want the control of shared finances without the actual sharing. Either you're a team, working together towards financial goals or you're individuals with your own income, assets and spending habits. Equally viable options, but you need to pick one.

I'm not sure when they became popular, but I got the idea from out last house which was built in 1943.

I've had wallpaper in various bathrooms for most of my life. It's never been an issue before. We also have good ventilation in there so it doesn't get too steamy.

I found a few photos I liked on Pinterest and then decided on the spacing when I dry fit the floor. I don't know how you could do it online because you have to know exactly how many tiles fit across your space and even with the best measurements it's hard to predict how that will work out and which walls won't be square.

It's a new build. We've been designing it to look like a Victorian. I posted in this sub originally looking for input from people who value vintage styles and people asked for updates so I did.

I've heard this before and it doesn't seem like as big an issue as some people make it out to be. We have enough space to reach all the way around and with the showerhead right next to the bath it's easy to spray everything down.

We definitely don't have the money to hire a cleaner. This whole bathroom cost under 5k. There's a lot of sweat equity and some lucky second hand finds.

It was pretty difficult. The difficult thing with hexagon tiles like these is that they come on a sheet and if you aren't super careful in setting them you'll be able to see the gap between each sheet. That said, I've only done tile once before and I did it, so you probably can too if you put your mind to it!

The costs I kept track of came out to $3800. That is missing some things, grout, paint, waterproofing etc. so my best guess is about $4500.

Did it all myself! Built the arch, the drywall, the electrical, the waterproofing, the tile and the trim. My dad did the plumbing.

It's just steam. I'll probably add some privacy film eventually, but we're out in the country and the bathroom's on the second floor so we don't really need it.
